Over 200 people gathered in northern Washington state this past Labor Day weekend to learn about the many uses of the fungal kingdom at the world's first Radical Mycology Convergence. For four days, people gathered from several countries and various cultural backgrounds to teach and learn together about mycoremediation, the use of fungi as a tool to help combat mass pollution and ecological degradation. In an age when so many human caused disasters are occurring throughout the world, the fungi are beginning to be seen as a strong option for tackling some of these great problems long thought impossible to solve.

What can we do?
We will examine ways to transform the abstract idea of Cascadia, the bioregion, into a contagious idea associated with our regional identity. The class will consist of knowledge-sharing as well as creating a functional workspace from which to spread the meme of being "Cascadian." The intent of the class is to eventually become a "think tank."
This course is FREE as it is part of Portland Free School. The goal is to create a bioregional awakening (Cascadia) that becomes widespread and very contagious and then create a "culture of active social change."

I'm calling for a better process of accountability in regards to radical institutions in Portland.
This was a thread I originally began at the Pffugee Camp blog. I realize I am again wantonly reposting some of my boilerplate positions on this blog, but nobody responds to my radical proposals, so maybe if I saturate your minds with my propaganda, a few will respond. HOWEVER: The bizarre revelation that comes forth at the end of this latest harangue will quite possibly blow your minds!
No good revolution should go to waste! What is the point of agitation and revolution if the people have no goals? If people have no specific demands, what should they expect to get? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Obviously the Democrats and the Republicans are are very nearly identical. All the Rush Limbaugh Democrat hating is a giant Psyop, obviously. Limbaugh's deep agenda is just as friendly to the Democrats as his overt agenda is to the Republicans. The American nation no longer really exists — The American Super Psyop has replaced it completely. I guess no one is interested in my proposal for an Equality party, so we are going to be stuck with yet another Democrat/Republican psyop election. We aren't going to do any damn thing whatsoever? Really? Let me suggest a place to start: Start by boycotting the lavish bankrolled blogs, like "Think Progress." Only visit the makeshift volunteer blogs, like this one. I deeply regret my former contributions to "Daily Kos", which at first fraudulently pretended to be an independent progressive blog, but turned out to be a front for the Democratic Party. I think the lavish bankrolled blogs use special software to generate fake page visits to spoof search engines and site meters into reporting massive web traffic. Our little blogs must band together to expose and denounce the lavish bankrolled blogs! We need to get our own fake page visit software to drive up each other's web traffic statistics, too. Perhaps I should make use of one of my old dormant independent sites to go live again to resume the battle of the lean against the fat sites.

A response to "Vegan Rules", which reminded me of authoritative, self-aggrandizing activist egos, such as mine sometimes turns into without me recognizing it. Most recent vegan converts seem to be sorely unaware that the ethics of veganism and straight-edge aren't resultant of Ian McKay and Fugazi and the hardcore music scene, which I earnestly admire and adore. Those roots can be found in ancient, 6,000 year and older, sacred texts from Kemetic, Abrahamic and India's Jainist scripture.
