Posts on this site that falsely accuse Nader of losing Gore the election in 2000 are becoming more common. Today, a ridiculous assertion appeared under the title, "Ralph Nader accepts millions from Bush", and the editors of this site had the good sense to compost it. The accusation is entirely false.

If the media, troops and administration see that American's are not happy with what they have turned our peaceful National Guard reserve force into killers for oil they will see more disfavor. Every troop return needs to meet with protest to the war. If anyone has been following the philly mayoral race, this is a fitting end. A few weeks ago, the incumbant - a democrat - found an FBI bug in his office. Details about the bug were sketchy and the FBI claimed a broad investigation, but denied any investigation of the mayor. Many believe that the bug was a republican political tactic, with its roots in Washington, used to discredit the mayor so that the republican challenger would be elected (PA's a swing state and Philly determines which way it swings). Well, it backfired becasue shortly before news about the bug hit the news, the polls showed the mayor and his republican challanger in a tight race, but since the bug, the mayor's lead, and popularity, has been growing, culminating in his re-election last night.
I'm posting this here because 1) its kind of funny; 2) its kind of sad that this is what our electoral process has devolved into. There's a scary qoute by the defeated challenger that hints at a court challenge, which is where I think that a ton of election results will be decided in the coming decades if there isn't reform.
