Apparently this letter is 5 pages from California Legislator Waxman-- he asks Rumsfeld why Haliburton is profiting in Iraq, Iran and Libya, countries that have had sanctions put on them by the U.S. saying that because these countries have terrorist links and are pursuing weapons of mass destruction, (because the U.S. couldn't subjugate these countries' leaders) no company could do business with them.
A Threatened Forest
Much of the northeastern portion of the Sierra Madre Range of the Medicine Bow National Forest has been impacted by clearcutting. But important stands of forest remain. These last stands provide habitat to rare and imperiled animals like the boreal owl, pine marten, and northern goshawk. They help to protect hillsides and water quality from erosion. And, over time, they would become part of an important forested corridor that would allow sensitive wildlife to roam freely throughout the Sierra Madre Range.
In the sudden aftermath of the war, folks might find the following uplifting. It's taken from a longer talk given by Steven Miller, a high school teacher, at a LRNA forum in San Francisco on April 18.
"the system used to produce hydrogen will be as fossil fuel-dependent - and potentially as dirty - as the one that fuels today's SUVs"
There is a good reason for children to not have the full rights of an adult. They don't have the ability to handle the responsibility. Nor do most children who have reached the age of consent.

Everything you've always wanted to know about 9/11 is 'classified' - and the Bushies want to keep it that way
Supporting a candidate who will SLOW DOWN the pace of our demise is not only an unacceptable option, it also MAY OBSCURE the blatant offensives being committed by the current regimes - in the White House and in the global corporate's New World Order. G. W. Bush has given us nearly the best imaginable chance to show what he and his more discrete brethren-elite are up to.
We need to do more than advocate sound political theory; we need to show people that we really do care about the health, happiness, and success of our fellow Americans -- that we're not a bunch of cold, callous egoists possessing no regard for human frailty and misfortune.

Here is the closing statement of Congressman Kucinich at the first presidential

Squeak, squeak...
Eight former and current workers at Bighorn National Forest will split a $200,000 settlement from the U.S. Forest Service for retaliation they endured after complaining nine years ago about a hostile working environment and questionable forest management practices, but the managers responsible will not be disciplined.
We know you've heard this before, but our leader is not "the man", the image is just a mirage.
Bush goes all out for the people.
On its website, NAMBLA claims its goal "is the abolition of age-of-consent laws that classify sex with children as rape." ...They promote their activism as sexual liberation from an oppressive society.
Even apart from the showmanship, there was alot about Bush's speech that didn't add up.

"we call for the repeal of all laws that restrict anyone, including children, from engaging in voluntary exchanges of goods, services, or information regarding human sexuality..."
Free Mumia Abu-Jamal!
I was in the process of adding my comment but it disappeared. By the way, I didn't see "health" listed among the topics to choose from.
Anyway, here is my response to GRINGO ALLSTAR'S brilliant work.
GATS, an agreement on trade in services, will be implemented by 2005. Accordinhg to GATS.public monopolies will be replaced by private monopolies..Public property will be handed over to private interests (theft of common property). Land and public institutions like parks and schools can be acquired by investors fromthe economy.. Private investors including foreign investors will decide over services and no longer the elected representatives..GATS destroys the foundations of community.
This book review of Dirk Kurbjuweit's "Our Efficient Life. The Dictatorship of the Economy and its Consequences" is translated from the German in the cyber journal Telepolis. "McKinsey's optimization program of tightenings, rationalizations and profit maximization, the program of increased efficiency, has psych-social consequences. In the supposedly athletic society, a competitive pressure clearly overstrains many people. The implicit demand is that the multitude should use the elite as a performance standard.."

On Saturday, all that was left on the mountainside were cables that had been used to shore it up. Observers said it looked as though the ledges that made up the image had just broken away, leaving a giant mountainside scar.

Now there is a new and demonstrable connection, but it is not the kind that the Bush Administration had in mind. It turns out that a money trail runs—albeit rather circuitously—from the lucrative business of rebuilding Iraq to the fortune behind Osama bin Laden. His estranged family, a sprawling, extraordinarily wealthy Saudi Arabian dynasty, is a substantial investor in a private equity firm founded by the Bechtel Group of San Francisco--also the global construction and engineering company to which the U.S. government recently awarded the first major multimillion-dollar contract to reconstruct war-ravaged Iraq.
At the end of the day, unconditionally, do you or don't
you stand with the masses again Imperialism and for the rights of self-determination? We can not carry on in the Imperialist countries with our National Chauvenism, Opertunism, and Ultra-Leftism and call our selves brothers and sisters of the rest of the world. One is reminded of the Martyred comrade, John Brown who swore a blood feud with slavery, then killed and died for its abolition. If only he were alive today!!!
That's right kids. You thought today was a day to march as a celebration of the proletariat? Nope. It's a day to honor our troops! You fools! Didn't you get the memo?
Call in sick this afternoon!
DC members of the National Youth Rights Association staged a lively picket at 5 PM today in front of a 7-11 in the Takoma Park neighborhood of DC. The protest was in response to the posted policy of that store that banned more than 2 youth from entering the store at one time. Despite crime statistics showing adults commit twice as much shoplifting crimes as youth, this store saw fit to discriminate against a whole class of people just because of their age.
American peace activists during the Vietnam War were instrumental in saving the lives of American soldiers captured overseas.
Oh the republican hypocrisy... it was bad enough for all the reblicans who had had or were having affairs to attack clienton, but not a GOP fundraiser who attacked clinton has been found guilty of producing child pornography.
