New York Times Pushes War With Iran
Once again the NYT is a leading voice for the war hawks. Of course the parallels to the Iraq disinformation campaign are clear. To fall for any of the propaganda requires a complete lack of understanding to the politics of the region. People would have to not understand that the Iraqi government that the US has been supporting is Shiite and thus allies with the current Iranian regime.

Peace Plane flies to Grammy Awards with message "Bring Our Troops Home Now"

A small group of members from Democracy for America Miami and Miami Veterans for Peace have come up with a novel approach to broadcasting a message to end the occupation of Iraq: an aerial banner that reads, "Bring Our Troops Home Now". These two groups decided to first try their idea at this year's Super Bowl in Miami, but bad weather prevented the plane from taking off. Now the organizers have turned their attention to this Sunday's Grammy Awards, which will be in Los Angeles. A plane has been leased to fly the same message over the Staples Center where the Grammys are taking place.

Write, call your members of congress!
Murtha's version of the next military spending bill — if it includes the Guantanamo provision — is meant to put anti-war Democrats in a bind. The public wants to close the Guantanamo prison, but they also want to end the Iraq deployment. In order to accomplish one goal, closing Guantanamo, anti-war Democrats are being told they must forego the greater goal of ending the Iraq deployment.

Why Removing Bush and Cheney Matters
Many people know that Bush and Cheney engaged in a systematic media campaign to deceive the American people and Congress about the reasons to launch a preemptive war on Iraq. Many others recognize that the President has violated numerous laws by spying on citizens without a warrant, dismissing their rights accorded to them by the Bill of Rights, and promoting torture. Some are also concerned about the President's abuse of power by using unconstitutional "signing statements," in which he signs a bill into law but then states he does not have to obey it. These are impeachable offenses.

The Only Thing That Really Matters!
2000 Election: Fraud, 9-11-01=Inside Job, Afganistan: Illegal War, Iraq: Illegal War, 2004 Election: Fraud; How long will we allow this to go on ond on? Ever hear of the Republicrat Party? That is, Republican or Demecrat, as in synonymous. 1913 is when it all went bad for the Constitutinal Republic of the United States of America. The Federal Reserve Act: Illegal. Federal Reserve (Monopoly: as in Hasbro Brothers) money has no monetary backing (Gold). The IRS: Illegal. Income Tax: Illegal; The 16th Amendment to the Constitution: Does not grant the U.S. Government any new powers of taxation (Supreme Court ruling 1916). Yet, you comply like dosile sheep. Filling out your 1040 and paying up to the IRS, Federal Reserve extortion, which pays for none of the services provided by our government, by the way, but only lines the pockets of a few thousand families of Capitalist Pig Bankers who in thier unpresidented arrogance believe they should rule us, and rule the world.

Border Fence- The Cost is Far Too High
A study released last December by the non-partisan Congressional Research Service says a proposed 700 mile stretch of fence, along the 2,000 mile U.S. - Mexico border, could cost an estimated $49 billion. But what the report fails to say, U.S. -built walls on the border would cost both the U.S. and Mexico trillions of dollars in economic losses over the predicted 25-year lifespan of the fence, and non-monetary damage to political and cultural relations between the two countries would also last for decades.

"Iran will destroy the Democrats"
"If I were to address a Democrat Theme Team equivalent, I would focus my effort on trying to impress them with the issue that will cost them political power down the road. This issue is Iran. While President Bush, a Republican, remains Commander in Chief, a Democrat-controlled Congress shares responsibility on war and peace from this point on. The conflict in Iraq, although ongoing, is a product of the Republican-controlled past. The looming conflict with Iran, however, will be assessed as a product of a Democrat-controlled present and future. If Iraq destroyed the Republican Party, Iran will destroy the Democrats."

The Watada Mistrial: Here's What Really Happened
A first-hand report from the trial in Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington, another in the continuing series of historic trials of American military resisters to the Iraq War. Rather, the judge did not want this case to go to any factfinder who had any chance of being fully informed of Lt. Watada's belief that the war in Iraq is illegal. For more on the Watada trial and other resisters, go to couragetoresist.org.

New Mexico Bush/Cheney Impeachment Resolution in Senate Rules Committee, 9AM Feb. 9th

The New Mexico Impeachment Resolution will roll into its first Committee Hearing this Friday, February 9th, at 9AM in Room 321 of the State Capitol Building. It is possible that it will be reassigned to a larger hearing room if there is a crowd. FOUR OF THE FIVE Democratic Senators on the Rules Committee have already signed the bill: Chairwoman Linda Lopez, Vice-Chair John Grubesic, Cisco McSorley and Dede Feldman. Senator Ben Altamirano, President Pro Tempore of the Senate IS THE SWING VOTE on Rules....[I]f you are from New Mexico and especially his district (Catron, Grant & Socorro), contact him at (505) 986-4733. If you can't reach the Senator, ask for Erlinda Campbell, his secretary. Take a few moments to read the below talking points...useful in discussion. ---Senator Ortiz y Pino recently called me and asked me to please ask that callers to Senator Altamirano's office be respectful in their discussions with him. ***It's an emotional issue, for one guy, Senator Altamirano, to determine whether an impeachment bill enters the Congress*** against Bush and I certainly understand why well-meaning citizens might lose their tempers on the subject, but we would not want to lose the good Senator's vote for the wrong reason. --- mention [1] right of States to initiate impeachment proceedings; [2] mention Bush's impeachment as goal is in his own New Mexico Democratic Party Platform of 2006, which was the "plank that received the *most* and thunderous applause, with upwards of 95% of those present standing and cheering in support."

The Democrats and their radical friends
A January 29 event in Washington sponsored by the "Out of Iraq" congressional caucus exemplified the political orientation of the left-liberal, Stalinist and middle-class radical forces that organized the January 27 antiwar protest.
The event, advertised as a book fair and discussion, was addressed by Maxine Waters and Lynn Woolsey, both Democratic representatives from California. The two congresswomen were among a number of Democrats who addressed the January 27 march, which was sponsored by the United for Peace and Justice coalition.
