Cheney and Rumsfeld Shielded Telecoms from Domestic Spying Charges in the 1970s
bosom buddies, 1975 President Bush's illegal domestic spying program is not the first instance of the government spying on American citizens in our history. To understand how the present controversy will probably play out, we need look no farther back than the Ford Administration:

Framework for a police state- US government phone spying targets all Americans
The exposure in Thursday's USA Today of a vast and secret National Security Agency data base tracking the phone calls of hundreds of millions of Americans is further evidence of the advanced preparations for the establishment of a police state in the United States. The NSA database is a blueprint for political repression and intimidation on a massive scale.
The patently illegal government surveillance has nothing to do with preventing terrorist attacks, as claimed by President Bush and echoed by both the media and Democratic Party politicians who criticize various aspects of the program. It has been implemented by a state apparatus which sees its major opposition as coming from among the American people, not scattered bands of Islamic terrorists. At a time of growing social opposition, the government is systematically collecting data to find out what people are thinking and to whom they are talking.
The phone-tracking program has, according to the USA Today report, been underway since shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The three largest telecommunications companies in the US, AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth, agreed secretly to collaborate with the Bush administration and hand over to the NSA their records of every telephone call made by every one of their approximately 200 million customers. The program, carried out without court-issued warrants or Congressional oversight, is in flagrant violation of federal statutes as well as civil liberties guarantees laid down in the Bill of Rights.

Getting Down to the Basics
There is a strong focus in our communities on self-education. This is a great thing except for the fact that many times the most basic parts of education are ignored, creating an incomplete understanding of a subject that leads to serious problems within the community. Such a statement is hard to understand without a clear example. I will illustrate this using my own experiences as an HIV+ person dealing with the ignorance of the people around me. The moralistic reactions of these people will be used as an opening to discussions and critiques of problems in independent and self-autonomous communities.

As Bush’s popularity sinks to new lows—a boost from Hillary Clinton
The latest in a series of sinking polls has brought George W. Bush to a record low in terms of his own approval rating and placed him within striking distance of becoming the most unpopular president in US history.
Just 31 percent of the American public approves of Bush's performance as president, according to a New York Times/CBS News poll released Wednesday. An even smaller percentage—29 percent—approves of the administration's handling of the war in Iraq, the issue that weighs heaviest in dragging down Bush's ratings.
Two-thirds of those polled said they had little or no confidence that the Bush White House could end the war successfully, and little more than a third said they believed that the decision to invade Iraq was correct. About two thirds said they did not believe that Bush shared their priorities and that the US was in worse condition today than before Bush came into office.
The poll follows a similar survey done by USA Today/Gallup the day before that also recorded a 31 percent approval rating for the US president. Like the Times/CBS poll, it indicated a sharp drop in support among those considered by the administration to be its base, with little more than half of conservatives giving Bush a positive rating.

"Red state" Utah mayor of Salt Lake City lambasts Nazi turn of Bush's USA in speech
Worth reading, particularly by a large city run by a rather "green Dem" like Anderson, because he is in the middle of the "reddest state in the U.S." (for Bush in 2004).

One wonders if the rest of Utah have started to wise up as well, given the work of other Utah citizens--like 9-11 truth researcher at Brigham Young University, Professor Steven E. Jones.

Notable is Mayor Anderson going the full distance: calling for point blank comparisons in public about Nazi Party cultural comparisons and policies as the core of Bush's policies.

Just wanted to share my FAVORITE 9-11 picture that trashes "AA77 at the Pentagon" story...
#1 before walls falls, seen more than next photo-- We've all see the flaming volcanic hole perfectly punched in the Pentagon before the reinforced wall collapsed (or was detonated to cleanly collapse all at once from one side, after all it was under construction and all of the "important personnel" were working elsewhere so the Pentagon could hit themselves without doing any personnel damage--except the Pentagon intel team that outed Israeli spy Pollard!--they were left in the area to be decimated and murdred.).

Picture #2 I have rarely seen shown by others. It seems to have been taken right after picture #1 below, as the fire is over, though before the wall "collapsed." If anyone sees a Boeing 757 there either, let me know!

Se puede? Not by protest alone
It only took a day for the effect of the immigration protests to be known. On May 2nd politicians from both parties gave a wealth of interviews and speeches that clarified their positions: nothing had changed. In fact, many had remarked that the protest had a 'backlash effect', hardening and inflaming the already conservative opinions of Republicans, while dulling the already flimsy stance of Democrats. Trent Lott, in speaking for many on the right, implied that a massive deportation sweep during the protests would have been appropriate, given that "we had 'em all in a bunch".
On the other side of the isle, Diane Feinstein gave a more passive response to the protests, representing the unaffected character of most Democrats to the millions who appeared in the streets; the passionate outcry from the masses was referred to as 'counterproductive', since protesting does not "changes votes on the floor of the senate"— the latter point is certainly true, becoming more obvious as pro-immigration and anti-war protests continue to draw millions, but fall onto deaf ears in Congress. Demonstrations, boycotts, protests, or any other indication of public opinion has proven unable to sway the actions of either party. The façade of the two-party system is unveiling itself with impressive speed as political and economical tensions near the boiling point.
