Did Bush and Cheney "Order" the Great Blackout? YOU BET THEY DID!
The timing was way too convenient - just days to weeks before crucial votes on Bush's sweeping energy plan and Clear Skies Initiative - both designed to dramatically overempower and expand the fossil-fuel-driven electrical power generating industry. Afterall, if the 9/11 disaster got G.W. the Patriot Acts, why shouldn't a massive power outage get him "Energy Acts"?

National Park Privatization - An Open Letter to Bruce Babbitt
The Bush Administration's privatization agenda is out of control. Recently, former Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt pointed an accusing finger at Mr. Bush for his efforts to privatize aspects of the National Park Service. But Babbitt didn't go far enough. The treats are much greater that Babbitt suggested and he himself was a big part of the problem. Here's the rest of the story.

Bullying in our nation's schools
In our nation's schools, we spend money and time to educate our students about the ills of bullying. But what good is this when we engage in bullying with other staff in our school systems? School board members, teachers, administrators and other staff need to realize that students are impressionable and can pick up on this! We are setting a bad example for our students and putting their needs last.....

ALL IS WELL
Corporate earnings are dismal. The S&P P/E ratios sit at 32, meaning that stocks are selling at 32 times their earnings (good stocks are considered to have a P/E ratio of ten or under).

The US trade deficit will be over $500 billion this year. The "estimated" $455 billion federal budget deficit does not include Iraq, Afghanistan, and homeland defense either, so will it be $600 billion in the hole? $750 billion? Since DC rarely tells the truth, no one knows.

Consumer debt is at an all time high, in the hundreds of billions of dollars, and climbing at a 5.1% annual rate. Bankruptcies are also at virtually all time highs, and climbing. In August of 2002, natural gas prices were $2.64 per million BTUs, and according to the Dept of Energy, by January of 2004, the price will be more than $9.00 for the same amount, tripling in a year and a half. The Iraq debacle is costing $4 billion a month, and no end is in sight.
