American nuclear reactors are vulnerable to terrorist attack. We need to consider measures to protect them. Better yet, get rid of them. We have no safe way to dispose of the nuclear waste they generate.
Since medical care is part of our basic cost of living, we are entitled to have it paid for by our employers. Some states, tired of paying the ever increasing costs of medical care for those who don't have medical insurance, are considering forcing employers to provide it. We should do this in Oregon.

His latest outrage is turning over 58 million acres of our nation's pristine forests to special interests to exploit. The situation is desperate! What can be done? Fri, 6 May 2005: As you all know, when Congress authorized the Recreation Access Tax as part of the Omnibus Appropriations Bill on December 8th, Fee-Demo was officially repealed. Fee-Demo was replaced by the RAT, a new law which some said would be fairer and less egregious in its implementation than the unpopular program it replaced. Unfortunately, they were wrong.
As of this writing we've not heard of any events planned in the U.S. for the International Call to Action on Root Causes of Climate Change called for the final day of the G8 in Scotland, July 8 2005. A national event in Detroit would, for obvious reasons, be ideal. If United Auto Workers members could be involved it would be even better. Re-tooling for new hybrid and electric vehicles means jobs. In any case, such a national action does not rule out creating local actions in your own region! [see links at bottom for details]

Chertoff slipped out a proposal to get around laws that are set to protect the privacy on the average citizen. He proposes creating or having a nonprofit organization to spy on the people and then report it to Chertoff. So merged with the idea of a National ID card with all your information on it with a new nonprofit organization spying on you should send chills down your spinal cord.
Several years ago the Department of Homeland Security hired a top former KGB officer to help organize the department and give suggestions for spying on the average American citizen.

Eighty-eight members of Congress have signed a letter authored by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) calling on President Bush to answer questions about a secret U.S.-UK agreement to attack Iraq, RAW STORY has learned.
In a letter, Conyers and other members say they are disappointed the mainstream media has not touched the revelations. "Unfortunately, the mainstream media in the United States was too busy with wall-to-wall coverage of a "runaway bride" to cover a bombshell report out of the British newspapers," Conyers writes. "The London Times reports that the British government and the United States government had secretly agreed to attack Iraq in 2002, before authorization was sought for such an attack in Congress, and had discussed creating pretextual justifications for doing so." "The Times reports, based on a newly discovered document, that in 2002 British Prime Minister Tony Blair chaired a meeting in which he expressed his support for "regime change" through the use of force in Iraq and was warned by the nation's top lawyer that such an action would be illegal," he adds. "Blair also discussed the need for America to "create" conditions to justify the war." The members say they are seeking an inquiry. "This should not be allowed to fall down the memory hole during wall-to-wall coverage of the Michael Jackson trial and a runaway bride," he remarks. "To prevent that from occuring, I am circulating the following letter among my House colleagues and asking them to sign on to it." Eighty-eight members of Congress call on Bush for answers on secret Iraq plan. The letter follows.

Two bills are being considered in D.C. that are projecting future scenarios out from the recently enacted Bankruptcy Act of 2005. One is being promoted by the Republican majority with some support from Democrats, while the other has so far received support only from Democrats.
