USA: Saddam Had No Weapons of Mass Destruction
What The F*ck?! You mean we invaded and colonized Iraq for no good reason. You mean our very own "Democratic" American government lied to us. You mean this whole "Weapons of Mass Destruction" thing is a fraud, a charade, an example of what the Nazis called "The BIG LIE." Horror of horrors, I would have never ever believed that the American Government (or a boy scout like George W. Bush) would lie to its own citizens, never mind the world. Why, that makes me wonder... what else are they lying about? You know like that little thing that happened on Sept. 11.... Help me, Portland Indymedia. Explain it to a confused Patriot.

The Thought Police Strike Again--in Vermont!
A uniformed police officer persuaded a custodian to open a school in the middle of the night so he could photograph class projects he found objectionable as an American and as a military veteran.
The projects that Barre Town Police Officer John Mott photographed included a poster of President Bush with duct tape over his mouth and a large papier-mache combat boot with the American flag stuffed inside stepping on a doll.
"I wanted everybody else to see what was in that room," said Mott, who convinced a custodian to unlock the classroom door last month.
Although he was on duty at the time, Mott maintains he was on a break.
"I'm just taking a stand on what happens in that classroom as a resident and a voter and a taxpayer of this community," he said.
[That's right. Fellow American patriots. We must insure that your precious Youth are not corrupted by the Evil influences of the antiwar movement. All Unpatriotic thoughts must be stamped out, and stamped out HARD. As a patriotic American Tax-payer, this is your duty and your right. You just gotta love Cops!]

INTERESTING DISCUSSION ON DC INDYMEDIA ON HOW TO HANDLE UNDERCOVER COPS
A Very interesting discussion on how to handle uncover cops for activist groups. The picture of the woman on the right is one of an alleged cop who went under the name of "Kimmy Johnson" and sucessfully infiltrated anti-capitalist activsts in Washingon DC. The following discussion is very useful in terms of the proposed tactics for dealing with cops, as well as the tactics that cop themselves use. It seems that Police Departments are increasingly using minorities and women as uncover types as these catagories of people tend to draw less suspicion than the usual Beefy, White Male. Portland area activists would be well served in reading and studying this and other cases. .

Peace with the Wolf of Gubbio
Seeking ways out of violence seems an urgent task of Christians..The time when churches blessed weapons must finally belong to the past..Why did Francis of Assisi say "Brother Wolf"? He did this on account of the base acts of this fellow-creature. St. Francis saw what made the wolf dangerous and wicked in himself..Can we say "Brother Terrorist"? We can say this because we are not free ourselves of the sin of allowing or practicing the most extreme violence when the situation demands it. War is completely boundless in its cruelty. From German.

Our Hope is Justice
The church should resist the increasing economization. The church should recognize and proclaim that this development runs counter to the gospel of Jesus Christ..Therefore the church should not succumb to the illusion of a "brave new world" where everything is and must be calculated and utopias are no longer necessary. To the seeming feasibility of all things and the omnipotence of the market, the church should form a counter-balance to defend humanliness. The church should rediscovedr that criticism of the powerful is a main item.. From German

U.S. Hires Christian Extremists to Produce Arabic News
The U.S. government this week launched its Arabic language satellite TV news station for mostly Muslim Iraq. It is being produced in a studio - Grace Digital Media - controlled by fundamentalist Christians who are rabidly pro-Israel. That's grace as in "by the grace of God." A fundamentalist Christian millionaire, Cheryl Reagan, last year wrested control of Federal News Service, a transcription news service, from its former owner, Cortes Randell. Randell says he met Reagan at a prayer meeting, brought her in as an investor in Federal News Service, and then she forced him out of his own company.

USA CONDUCTED BIOWARFARE EXPERIMENTS UNDER AEGIS OF THE WORLD HEALTH ORG.
Admission by the United States that it released 'Aedes aegypti' mosquitoes in a Pacific island in 1965 as part of its biological warfare test programme has vindicated Indian government's decision to close down a similar US sponsored mosquito project in India in early 1970s, scientists say.... Apparently the US interest in development of yellow fever as a biological warfare weapon was sustained even after President Richard Nixon supposedly ended the biological warfare programme in 1970, says Gupta. Only this time the trial was conducted outside the United States in a developing country under the umbrella of the WHO, he says.

Tears of Inspiration from Argentina
Each day since I arrived in Buenos Aires, my eyes have at least once filled with tears. Tears that are not of sadness, yet neither are they reflective of an absolute or complete joy. They are complicated tears, tears of inspiration from the creation taking place all around, tears of sadness and frustration for the pain and hunger caused by the economic crisis, tears of intense contradictions, tears of a new beginning, incredulous tears, tears for the future, tears for the present. Beautiful tears.
