Elijah, Amos and Jeremiah: Prophets as Uncomfortable Critics
The Old Testament prophets condemned war and accumulating riches as attacks on society and the poor, as forms of idolatry and blindness where fellow persons are degraded into non-persons. False prophets are described as broken cisterns that can hold no water. Can we learn from the prophets to raise our voices and decry normalizing greed and militarism?

Popular uprisings spread across Middle East despite brutal crackdowns
For the fifth day in a row, there were bloody clashes in the tiny island monarchy of Bahrain, where the US Navy's Fifth Fleet is based. At least three people were killed when the army opened fire on demonstrators. Some 25,000 people, a huge crowd for a country of less than a million adults, had turned out for a funeral march for protestors killed the day before.
It was the first protest in the centre of the capital, Manama, since the police stormed the Pearl Roundabout before dawn on Thursday, killing four people and wounding around 200.
A Salmaniya hospital doctor told Al Jazeera that the hospital was full of severely injured people: "We need help! Our staff is entirely overwhelmed. They are shooting at people's heads. Not at the legs. People are having their brains blown

OPEN LETTER FROM ANONYMOUS TO THE UK GOVERNMENT
Following the arrests of five people in Britain for their supposed involvement in the widely-publicized DDoS attacks in December of last year against a number of online companies for their involvement in cutting services to WikiLeaks, the online group known as Anonymous has declared war on the U.K. The companies originally targeted by the attacks were MasterCard, Visa, and PayPal.

Anonymous has issued a press release stating that they see these arrests as a declaration of war by the U.K. government.

This one could get ugly, folks.

Egypt: Mubarak has fallen, the capitalist regime and the bourgeois State remain
Strike in a factory in Al Mansura Much to the jubilation of the throngs of demonstrators in Egypt Hosni Mubarak has announced his resignation, handing his powers to the army. Iran's Government Has Executed 86 People So Far In 2011. That's About 1 Every 12 Hours.
The real number might be much higher for two reasons:
1. The govt conducts most of these executions in secret, so they release names when they want to.
2. The family of the executed has have the resources and the will(many families are shamed into denouncing their loved ones) to claim the body. Bribes are common in this situation. If the body is not claimed, its simply tucked away in one of hundreds of mass graves around the country. The larges of these graves in Tehran is called Khavaran. The govt refers to them as "the place of the damned". Visitors have to sneak in and out of these grave sites as visitations are not allowed.

EGYPT 2011: MILLIONS HAVE
HEROICALLY STOOD UP...
THE FUTURE REMAINS TO BE WRITTEN
Bob Avakian

Millions of Egyptian people from all walks of life, drawing inspiration from the people of Tunisia, have heroically risen up, defied the hated regime of Hosni Mubarak and forced Mubarak to resign. This has shattered the notion that "things can never change." It is a powerful demonstration that there is no permanent necessity to the existing conditions under which the great majority of humanity suffer so terribly. Oppressed people and people who hunger for an end to oppression, in every country all over the world, have deeply shared in the joy and hope of these massive uprisings. And the stirrings of revolt continue to spread.

Too good to be true; a beautiful, non-violent revolution- now this. Remember these words of wisdom and remember them well: all power corrupts. Live update: Freedom and democracy protests launch in Algeria ((( i )))
Algeria is under a state of emergency since February 9, 1992. First Tunisia, then 18 days of people power toppled Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, now it seems the people of Algeria want to be rid of their dictator Abdelaziz Bouteflika and the military junta. Democracy protests have started on February 12 in Algiers, called by the National Coordination for Change and Democracy (NCCD). Algeria is under a state of emergency since February 9, 1992.

Authorities deployed huge numbers of security forces ahead of the protests - some calling it a "state of siege". Up to 30,000 riot police have been mobilized. Saturday's February 12 protest has been banned by authorities fearing a people's uprising like in Tunisia and Egypt.

thanks, suckers, he says 12.02.2011 09:00
Be Careful What You Wish for: Egypt's new dictatorship of US CIA Torturer Suleiman starts
The main square is completely ringed by tanks' -- L.A. Times foreign correspondent Laura King; Suleiman says basically, 'I'm in power now, so the protests are over, and I will repress you if you think otherwise even though I represent NO CHANGE. Thanks suckers, it all worked! Signed, Suleiman."

A show of hands, please. How many really thought Egypt--dependent on blank checks from the USA--was going allow a democratic revolution, people? Second another show of hands: how gullible are you when all 'democratic revolutions' only in the past 15 years have been external coups for U.S. imperialism? Activists' gullibility allows them to only be bit players in their future, in a larger geopolitical game, catalysts for something they don't control or even participate within, and now great, and now thanks to that ignorance, their purpose has been used, and they WILL BE ushered off the stage by Egyptian tanks and threats of mass torture from their 'new boss, same as the old boss.' Thus closes the optimism of deluded activists who should come up with better strategies to deal with the co-option of democratic slogans by the U.S. empire.

3 assorted articles; you have to wise up, you are unable to fight the NWO with 'democratic street protests' when they are as in the case of Egypt only hitched to an external coup. Such undemocratic coups of any government are entirely externally created. All coups should be rejected, whether CNN spins to you it is "democratic" or otherwise. If all those democratic activists can think of is a coup, then they deserve all the heartbreak that they will receive so soon for not wising up earlier and thinking of better ways to organize to reject such coups.
