Described as a "Fox News in Arabic," this TV channel is called METNA, or Middle East Television Network. I wonder if they will have a catchy Orwellian slogan like "Fair and Balanced? In 1978, Shin Sang-ok, South Korea's most famous movie director, was shoved into a car in Hong Kong, a burlap sack was placed over his head, and he was smuggled by ship to North Korea. The Committee has released a report documenting that the government of North Korea (DPRK) operates a vast and inhumane prison system for political prisoners. Satellite photography and testimony from escaped former prisoners reveal that North Korea has between 150,000 and 200,000 political prisoners working as slave laborers in prison colonies known as kwan-li-so. The kwan-li-so make up a considerable fraction of the North Korean gulag, according to the report, entitled The Hidden Gulag: Exposing North Korea's Prison Camps.
On last October 18, the south Korean authorities, in spite of the strong protest and opposition of the south Korean people and the world peace-loving people, decided at last to dispatch additional troops to Iraq in submission to the tenacious pressure of the US.
Troop dispatch to Iraq is an irrecoverable war crime of directly joining the US-led piratical war of aggression and plunder as well as a guilty act of tramping down upon the Iraqi people's desire for peace and security. Many organizations against the troop dispatch to Iraq including the "Emergency People's Action Opposing the Troops Dispatch to Iraq" are formed to make brisk activities now in south Korea. As of Oct. 25, 351 organizations are waging various dynamic struggles such as holding protest rallies and demonstrations, making signature campaigns, publishing statements and comments, etc to stop the additional troop dispatch to Iraq.
