The big news throughout the European and Canadian press is a recent declaration by Michael Meacher, former Minister of the Environment in the UK, that Bush and his administration not only had foreknowledge of the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center, but allowed it to happen in order to pursue world domination. And yet the U.S. press, including the center-column feature editors of every U.S. indymedia site, has ignored the story so far, despite many posts. pdx indymedia gets a temporary dispensation for having an entire section on the 9.11 investigation, though i hope they put up something soon! The other indymedias will likely ignore it, though, as they are run by liberals who take their cues from The Nation, Mother Jones, Z magazine, CommonDreams, and other institutions of the head-in-the-sand left, and are afraid to take on the issue for fear of losing "credibility" or being called "conspiracy theorists". With Meacher's declaration, however, this topic has moved out of the fringes, and deserves full front page play. Will indymedia do it?

In a startling article in today's [9/6/2003] Guardian, Michael Meacher, member of British Parliament and for the last six years, until his resignation three months ago, the British Environment Minister in Tony Blair's government, has written a scathing condemnation of the Bush Administration, charging it with collusion in the September 11th tragedy.
Nelson Warfield, a former press secretary for Sen. Robert Dole and a key Republican strategist, said it well in the International Herald Tribune: "Just about every conservative is thrilled with a president who tells the U.N. to take a hike."

As I outline below, there are numerous aspects regarding the official stories about September 11th which do not fit with known facts, which contradict each other, which defy common sense, and which indicate a pattern of misinformation and coverup. The reports coming out of Washington do very little to alleviate these concerns.

Exponentialism operates to be a "supercomponent" of reality. It is a realism of sorts, a realism that inflates the modes, intentions, practices, habits, compulsions, qualities, etc. of reality. In this case, it is the tactics of misinformation and convolusion (as practiced by the media outlets, politicians, public figures in Western society), the binary basis of politics, and commercial/colonial ownership that are being inflated and exponentialized.

Tony Blair added that if anyone were to ask the average Iraqi whether they would prefer to be still living under the old regime, "they would look at as if you were completely crazy". This contrasts starkly with what the Prime Minister said in his speech to the Commons on 18 March, the day when MPs voted to endorse the decision to go to war. Then Mr Blair asserted, "I have never put the justification for action as regime change."
While an action doll of Bush in military garb is being marketed across the country, almost daily young Americans in the occupation force are being killed in what now appears to be an on-going war of liberation from the Americans.
We now need a public dialogue on how best to extract ourselves from the perilous situation these men have created before we become ensnared in an oil-driven equivalent of the Vietnam War. The starting point is to awaken the American people by a full and open Congressional investigation--as rigorous as that now being pursued in Britain of the Blair government--of the misrepresentations by the Bush administration regarding Iraq's purported weapons of mass destruction as a pretext for the war.
All these blunders and omissions are indeed mistakes of American policy, and grievous ones, but they are secondary mistakes. The main mistake of American policy in Iraq was waging the war at all. That is not a conclusion that anyone should have to labor to arrive at. All 'justifications' for the war are now in history's ash heap, never to be retrieved - adding a few largish piles to the mountains of ideological claptrap (of the left, the right and what have you) that were the habitual accompaniment of the assorted horrors of the twentieth century. Biden says we must win the war. This is precisely wrong. The United States must learn to lose this war - a harder task, in many ways, than winning, for it requires admitting mistakes and relinquishing attractive fantasies.

This article by British MP Michael Meacher in the mainstream Guardian newspaper finally says what many 9-11 skeptics were saying from 9/12/01, 9-11 was an inside job and was the "Pearl Harbor" event needed to put into place long held plans for Global American hegemony (as specifically detailed in the Project for a New American Century). My only quibble with Meacher's article below is that he limits himself to the "Bush Knew" or "Let it Happen on Purpose" theory when in fact there is signficant evidence to suggest that the American government *trained* and *sponorsed* 9-11 hijackers like Mohammed Atta dating back to the 1990s under Clinton as well.

In fact, most atrocities and massacres were committed by 'nice Jewish boys and girls', from the Labour movement, may of whom grew up in kibbutzim in a humanist environment. It exposes the myth, entertained in the West, according to which Israel's practices towards Palestinians worsened when the right-wing Likud came to power. It documents the development of a growing awareness among Israeli intellectuals of the need to face the past with honesty. This is a rather recent and salutary phenomenon.
