For the first time in a Newsweek poll, the percentage of registered voters who would not like to see Bush re-elected as president outnumbered those who supported a second term (49 percent to 44 percent).
The US vs THEM has to stop!
"It skewed, misrepresented, used selectively, and fabricated the Iraq story. "The Government lied when the Prime Minister's office told the media I was mentally unstable. "The Government lied when it associated Iraq with the Bali bombing and the Government lied every time that it associated Iraq with the war on terror." Mr Wilkie says the Government should be honest about Iraq since no weapons of mass destruction have been found.
A guerrilla attack killed three British soldiers and seriously wounded one on Saturday in the southern port city of Basra. To the north, American forces reported killing two Iraqi Turkomen who opened fire when U.S. soldiers arrived to stop ethnic fighting in the city of Tuz Kharmato.
Foreign Office sources told The Times British diplomats, security guards and contract workers had been moved under heavy guard to the coalition provisional authority (CPA) headquarters in the city. Thousands of US troops are guarding the CPA compound, the newspaper reports.
Start planning now to resist the celebration of colonization and destruction of cultures and languages world wide. Below is an example of what some people did to say no to glorifying genocide.
The genocide continues - as the coal is raped from the Dine in Arizona to fuel Las Vegas, as the bones of ancestors are put on display in museums and corportations put nuclear waste in the sacred lands where bones rest. ORGANIZE IN SOLIDARITY WITH THOSE WHO ARE FIGHTING TO SURVIVE THE DISEASE OF WESTERN CULTURE.
I get the feeling that the Dean bloggers are turning their attention to this site in expectation of his arrival. The comments being made in support of Dean are shallow and often flat out untrue. In my opinion, comments on this site have more depth than the foaming-at-the-mouth pro-Dean postings I've seen in the past couple of days. And other postings about Dean in recent weeks haven't gotten nearly as much attention. In the past, James has been the main, if not virtually the only person, defending Dean. Q - Is resistance futile?
Dr Kelly--one of the world's leading experts on WMD in Iraq--said to the Newsnight reporter Susan Watts, as well as to Andrew Gilligan that Alastair Campbell and the Downing Street press operation were responsible for exerting pressure to hype up the danger. The inquiry is exploring the reality of that claim. But it is already clear that Dr Kelly made it, to Gilligan and Watts.
An agreement has finally been reached in regard to personnel appointed to head the new military services in post-war Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) After nearly five years of civil war and about half a year of fragile peace, the situation seems to be returning to some measure of normalcy
This fucking intense speech was on Democracy Now! This morning. Check it out!
The Australian government "skewed, misrepresented, used selectively and fabricated" the intelligence used to justify its decision to send troops to Iraq, a parliamentary inquiry in Canberra was told yesterday.
Chalabi is usually not recognized as a reliable source. But if this startling piece of information is true, it means two things: 1) The Americans in Iraq knew about an attack, and did nothing to try to prevent it. 2) The UN itself didn't know anything about it, according to Fred Eckhard, spokesman for secretary general Kofi Annan: "To my knowledge, that information was not relayed to the United Nations."
A human rights worker reports from the other front in the U.S. war on terror, where warlords rule supreme, music is once again banned, journalists hide from gunmen, and even the streets of Kabul are filled with fear.
The liberals were right. The peaceniks were right. True conservatives were right. Veterans opposed to the war - I hear from more of them than you might imagine - were also right. They said this war was based on lies, and it was. They said this war, like most wars, would lead to more chaos and killing, and it has.
Spain already has 744 soldiers there, but the death of one of their own number has shocked the population and opposition parties demanded a parliamentary debate in the belief that Spanish forces should be brought home.
U.S. investigators suspect the bombing of the U.N. headquarters in Baghdad was an inside job and are questioning Iraqi employees and guards, many of whom were linked to Saddam Hussein's security service, a top American official said Friday.
Before the invasion, the Pentagon repeatedly tried to play down expectations that US forces would be forced to stay in Iraq in great numbers for a long period of time.
A United States Marine who had told authorities he had been shot while trying to help a stranded motorist has now admitted that he shot himself to avoid being shipped overseas.
If we are to defeat the systems of oppression, we must in fact combat the very systems themselves.
Bush's achievements since he's been in office. Quite an eye opener for those who haven't been keeping track or paying attention.

We stand with the National Democratic Front of South Korea in their Struggle to drive US Imperialism, and its GI Mercanary Stooges to the sea. We know and revere the NDFSK as our true comrades, and brethem in the fight for Socialism and Communism. It is understandable to any objective person, that Korea, Land of the Morning Calm, should strongly desire to be Re-Unified, as it has been for centuries.
We Recognize the International Significance of The Korean Workers' Paradise in the North and see it as a proud bastillion for the World Wide Liberation of humanity. The Anti-Imperialist Solidarity Committee USA Solemnly swears to use all resources at our disposal to ensure the Military defeat of US Imperialism, in the event of an unprovoked war. Our very blood is nothing for Socialism, the very meaning of human dignity.

The Cancun Anti-WTO Coordinating Committee and the Cancun Indymedia Collective are in desperate need of donations to rent a media center space and obtain internet connectivity.
A pagan activist convergence in Cancun when the WTO meets there. Also a globally synchronised ritual to coincide with the meeting.
The Four-hour Day Foundation exists to assemble a particular coalition of people prepared to question the fundamental assumptions of how we labor and how we distribute our immense wealth.. The four-hour day is within easy reach. If we can rearrange world politics so as to honestly collaborate with other nations, anything is possible.

3. Massacre by Yankees
Since their occupation of south Korea in September 1945, the US troops have inflicted unbearable pains and sufferings on the south Korean people, incessantly committing various crimes like massacre, plunder, violation, destruction, etc. In the five-year-period after the occupation alone the US imperialists killed in a brutal way over 1 million south Korean people who had turned out in the anti-US, anti-fascist resistance. After the outbreak of the Korean War they massacred another 1 million guiltless south Korean civilians in a little more than one year. They still continue to kill, rape and violate the south Korean people after the War. They slaughtered more than 5,700 people and seriously wounded over 14,000 civilians in the Gwangju Popular Uprising in May 1980. On June 13 last year the GIs brutally ran over two south Korean passersby: teenaged schoolgirls to death with an armored car in the daytime.
In mid-June, F.B.I. director Robert Mueller III and several senior agents in the bureau received a group of about 20 visitors in a briefing room of the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, D.C. The director himself narrated a PowerPoint presentation that summarized the numbers of agents and leads and evidence he and his people had collected in the 18-month course of their ongoing investigation of Penttbom, the clever neologism the bureau had invented to reduce the sites of devastation on 9/11 to one word: Pent for Pentagon, Pen for Pennsylvania, tt for the Twin Towers and bom for the four planes that the government had been forewarned could be used as weapons—even bombs—but chose to ignore.
COMMUNIQUE from the Puppetistas in Cancun!!!
What do Reuters photographer Mazen Dana and UN advisor Vieriea de Mello (soon to be UN Human Rights Commissioner with a thick dossier on US violations in Iraq) have in common?
Both were seen as threats by the Pentagon. Both are now dead.
stupid important
We know you guys will do an AMAZING job! I personally look forward to reposting info from here onto other sites as it comes in. Sf.indymedia has moved articles on the upcoming protests to the top of the Global News section every time they are posted.
Labor Day weekend action camp will train activists in organizing and direct action skills and features excellent Canadian and US trainers.
Chalabi said the council shared the news with US intelligence agents. However, it was not clear if the information had been relayed to the United Nations.
Given the state of the world and the conflicts at hand, what we really need is education. We should educate the poor countries like Syria, Palestine, and Egypt. Further more I think that we here in the United States with our vast open area could help Israel out by offering free education and housing here in the United States for the people of Palestine. We should bring the people from these countries here so they can enjoy our ideologies and see what it is like to live in a country such as ours.
This report suggests that yesterday's UN bombing in Baghdad fits the profile of an action taken by outside Islamicist "terror" organizations and not the Iraqi guerrilla resistance. It does not however, ask the question who controls these so-called terror groups (cough, cough CIA).
The attack on the UN in Baghdad proves that no foreign organisation - no NGO, no humanitarian organisation, no investor, no businessman - can expect to be safe under America's occupation rule.
Not quite what the US wants heard . . .
"We will need to make it clear in launching the document that we do not claim that we have evidence that he is an imminent threat," Mr Powell wrote on September 17, a week before 10 Downing Street's dossier was finally published.

The Nazis extracted the fillings of its victims after being informed by Degussa that the company could refine it into marketable gold bullion. Degussa was awarded an
exclusive contract with the Nazis to refine all gold. The company was also joint owners with I.G. Farben of Degesch, a firm that produced Zyklon-B cyanide tablets used in the gas chambers. Due to the hoard of gold fillings stacking up at Auschweitz, Degussa built a smelter there. The bullion was then shipped back to Berlin and commingled with the Nazis gold stash. Undoubtedly some of it made its way back to the banker in charge of United Steel Works, Prescott Bush.
Alastair Campbell authorised a "substantial rewrite" of the government's dossier on Iraqi weapons of mass destruction (WMD) after a discussion with Tony Blair, according to a damning e-mail produced in evidence yesterday at the Hutton inquiry. Will today's staged terror attacks be enough to keep the heat off Bush and Blair? Terror alert level raised to crimson: Bush and Blair need a distraction.
In a recent statement aired by Al-Jazeera, an Iraqi Resistance group CONDEMNED the recent bombing of the UN Headquarters in Baghdad. They suggeset that the bombing was done to DISCREDIT the Iraqi Resistance in general. This UN bombing couldn't be yet another staged "terror "attack/provocation could it? Remember, false Flag operations are an integral feature of US (and Israel) covert operations. Notice how the Western "free" press completely ignores this story/issue and automatically assigns blame to the Iraqi Guerrilla Movement. Also, note the excerpt from the NY Times article below which admits that the USA could actually *BENEFIT* from this bombing!
It's OK to protest the war again.
Dean's appointment of Vermont Attorney General Sorrell and Sorrell's criminal violation of civil rights law and bribery cover-up.
The American army admitted yesterday that its soldiers killed an award-winning Reuters cameraman. Mazen Dana, a Palestinian, was shot dead by a US tank crew at close range while trying to film outside Baghdad's Abu Ghraib prison on Sunday, after a mortar attack on the prison.
The brother of Reuters cameraman Mazen Dana said he was deliberately murdered for discovering mass graves of U.S. troops killed in Iraqi resistance attacks.
