Details of Israeli-Palestinian Prisoner Exchange Emerge
This is major news, and is also covered in the Ha'aretz, Washington Post, and the Guardian. But I like the way that the Al Jazeera coverage here, emphasizes the concern over HOW the prisoner exchange is done. In other words, how the ethics of how the transfer happens is more important than how many are released. This concern over the choices about who would be released, as many prisoners near the end of their terms, is not being covered in these other papers.

Although the Guardian's interview is good, in that the Israeli capture & imprisonment of the entire elected government of Palestine is again being (finally) brought up. But this analysis that Al Jazeera has, about what the deeper Palestinian perspective on prisoner exchange may be, is lacking in the others, which is why I'm reposting it here.

The other articles I'm referring to are:

Got an Ant Problem? Use Pentagon Approved Pesticide/Biowarfare Chemical Aspartame
These products have a built in ant killer! Thanks go to Monsanto and Rumsfeld! No mystery aspartame works like a pesticide, as the asparctic acid contained in this toxic product is a well-documented excitotoxin that causes specific brain cells to become excessively excited to the point they quickly die, just as both kinds of ants did....Makes you wonder if aspartame is a far safer, better alternative to getting rid of lawn and home pests than the average toxic pesticides found at your neighborhood hardware store....

You see, although aspartame is about 180-200 times sweeter than the refined sugar it is meant to replace, it is known to erode intelligence and affect short-term memory. Once upon a time, aspartame was on a Pentagon list of biowarfare chemicals submitted to Congress, which just goes to show you how lethal a chemical it really is.

Watch the free copy of the aspartame documentary, Sweet Misery, at Google Video, link below.

“Green” politics and imperialism
Political consciousness invariably lags far behind the objective development of social reality. This accounts for the persistence of political illusions among the masses in parties and their individual representatives for a considerable time after the basis for the confidence they once inspired has dissipated.

As an example of this gap between illusion and reality, let us consider the fate of the Green movement. In much of Europe and in North America, organizations that describe and define themselves as "Green" are generally believed to be principled opponents of imperialist militarism. The "success" of the Green Party in Germany, whose long-time leader Joschka Fischer rose to the exalted rank of foreign minister, is not infrequently invoked as an example of the potential for Green movements to create an anti-militarist alternative to traditional bourgeois parties that are capable of winning power.

Jonathan Cook: Deception as a Way of Life
It now appears to be accepted wisdom that Hizbullah's rocket attacks on Israel led to one million Israelis being made refugees....
In fact, it is impossible that one million Israelis could have been made refugees, as a quick calculation proves. There are approximately 1.2 million Israelis living in the north, with the population divided equally between Jewish and Arab citizens. Hardly any Arabs left the north during the Hizbullah rocket attacks, either through a residual fear that their homes might be taken by the state, as were those of Palestinians who fled or were terrorised away during the 1948 war, or because they had nowhere else to go. Most assumed, probably rightly, that the Jewish population in the country's centre would not welcome them as refugees.

Why I Am a Terrorist
The Bush regime has been trying to pretend that opposing its crimes against humanity and its treason against America some how constitutes "terrorism" itself. This mentality is mirrored among the Republinazi FBI which plans, funds, and leads environmental sabotage and then labels its entrapped victims "eco-terrorists."

At core is corporate terrorism with a theofascist bent, pitting the peoples of the world against corporate theofascist terrorists -- like Rumsfeld and his Republinazi terrorist State.

Hours after a ceasefire halted a five-week war between Israel and Iranian-backed Islamic militias in Lebanon, reported the New York Times, "hundreds of Hezbollah members spread over dozens of villages across southern Lebanon began cleaning, organizing and surveying damage. Men on bulldozers were busy cutting lanes through giant piles of rubble. Roads blocked with the remnants of buildings are now, just a day after a ceasefire began, fully passable." Who cares if Hezbollah is a State Department-designated terrorist organization? Unlike our worthless government, it gets things done!
