An administration in deepening crisis: Some reflections on the Bush press conference
The Tuesday press conference held by George W. Bush at the White House was another display of the banality and sheer intellectual incapacity of the 43rd US president, and of the mounting contradictions which are undermining the most reactionary administration in American history.
First, there is the man himself, visibly deteriorating under the impact of disasters in both domestic and foreign policy. Several media accounts made reference to Bush's peculiar demeanor and erratic behavior at the event, which was called on only 90 minutes notice in order to insure that the press would be even less prepared than usual to ask searching questions.
One columnist noted a "senior moment" of Reagan-style forgetfulness, as Bush, who has long cultivated the White House press corps with jocular greetings and pet nicknames, was suddenly unable to recognize even the most senior reporters, such as Terence Hunt, the longtime Associated Press correspondent who traditionally asks the first question. Bush later stumbled over other names, and even blurted out, during a rambling non-answer about interest rate policy, "I'm stalling for time here."

Second Confirmation of Bush seeing 9-11 first hit 'live': "NASA had live feed first hit"
Bush--and NASA--had access to live video feed on WTC to watch first hit, 8:46 am NASA had a live feed for first hit, says NASA technician. No one except Bush has ever claimed to have seen the first hit live. Bush does on several occassions.

Thanks to someone commenting on another article. This is big information and I think it deserves its own post because it helps unravel how Bush likely would have seen the first hit live. It exposes the traitor network leading into NASA. I wanted to make it more widely known in this promoted post.

Setting precedents in the Mississippi Historic District
I lost count on how many times I heard the developers of the Mississippi Lofts, while responding to objections and concerns voiced by Boise residents say that this development was precedent setting and that if it didn't go well - other developers would just "fly under the radar". It always sounded like a threat to me. No wonder since they also said, in response to criticism regarding the proposed height of 45 feet, "we could go 60 feet!" This is just a taste of the threats, lies, and whines we endured. Their constant reminders that they were so nice to come to Boise Neighborhood meetings on their own volition and how hurt they were by how they were treated, was the most tiresome for me. This hurt, they said, would keep them from responding, to the Boise Neighborhood Association after we voted in December 2005 to not give them a letter of support.

UT Law Professor Ronald Sievert Lies to Daily Texan About FBI Watch List
Students who attended an FBI official's guest lecture at the UT School of Law say that Independent Media Collective and Food Not Bombs were included in a presentation about possible domestic terrorism.

G. Charles Rasner, a supervisory senior resident agent and head of Austin's Joint Terror Task Force, spoke at Professor Ronald Sievert's United States Law and National Security class March 8. During the lecture, Rasner gave a PowerPoint presentation that several students say included a list of organizations the FBI watches for possible domestic criminal or terror activity in Central Texas.

Iraq’s “National Security Council”: a move toward open dictatorship
The announcement on March 19 that steps are being taken to form an extra-parliamentary "National Security Council" (NSC) is a warning that the Bush administration is moving toward an openly dictatorial regime in Iraq.
The White House's attempts to portray Iraq as a country in a transition to "democracy" are becoming increasingly threadbare. More than three months after the December 2005 elections, there is no new government and no indications that one will be formed anytime soon. No party or alliance holds a majority of seats, let alone the two-thirds majority constitutionally required to elect the presidential council that names the prime minister.

Disguised Attack on Free Speech
The digital revolution has created an imbalance in the supply of information, which has impacted heavily on minority ruling interests. Media moguls, minority interests and their puppet governments are lamenting the good ol' days when the mass media supplied 'disinfected' information to a gullible population. Millions around the globe are now able to exchange information, become independent publishers and have a 'voice'. It is not surprising that information from sources at an 'event' often contradicts popular reporting and tailored versions disseminated by the mass media and centralist governments.

Oglala Sioux president on state abortion law
Kudos to Cecilia Fire Thunder and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation for figuring out an amazing course of action and sticking it to the man in South Dakota. I do not know if Ms. Fire Thunder was the same woman from the Pine Ridge reservation who mentioned to me that it is difficult, there, for women to even get normal reproductive care, but this is a step in the right direction both for the nation's reservations and for abortion rights. If the government realizes it cannot stop reproductive rights, maybe it will stop passing these kinds of laws. The problem remains that South Dakota is a big, big state. Let's keep working on finding these ingenious solutions until abortion is accessible to even the poorest woman, or even those without job flexibility or sick leave.

Democratic rights and the attack on constitutionalism
The current state of affairs in the United States concerning constitutional government and law is a profound expression of a social and political system in an advanced stage of disintegration. Indeed, it reflects the decay of liberal capitalism as a world historical system in a country which did once represent the apogee of democratic government, grounded in the most noble ideas of human culture and emancipation.
I think it worthwhile to remind ourselves, as we appraise the political culture and attitude of America's ruling elite today, of the ideas and political culture that guided the founders of the American Republic, for in these ideas is distilled the cultural and intellectual outlook of the most advanced elements of a social class in the ascent. Such a review reveals as much about their outlook as it does about the present leadership of the United States.
Lying on his deathbed in 1826, Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, between 1801 and 1809, wrote his last letter, declining for reasons of poor health an invitation to attend the 50th Independence Day celebrations in Washington. He apologised for being unable to attend and continued:
