Here's a little story about something that happened to me recently. It only vauguely tangents on Veganism but I still think some here may find it intresting. It helped me realize something that I was doing wrong, only not as dramatically as the person here. I think it has an inportant message for anyone who has a message that they feel passionate about sharing, as many do with animal rights.
I'm on a steroid regimin and can't sleep too well so I'm sorry if this is somewhat incoherant but I have a few thougths to share on the health care system. Sorry my word processor doesn't work on this comp or I would spellcheck.

Many Americans are wondering whether government agents have been listening to their phone conversations or reading their email. If you're worried this has happened to you, you can use this site to help you find out.
I post this here as a reminder of what our local Portland news media
COULD be reporting if they weren't in the pockets of the local government officials. Evidently reporting the TRUTH means something in Seattle.

That might also explain why Michael Zwebner did not take the opportunity of the Hurricane to promote his and his 'business' partner, Palestinian con man and Al Qaeda Islamic terrorist charities connected suspect Mohamed Hadid's, et.al.'s 'airwater machine'. Perhaps he felt using you or Israeli President Moshe Katsav again to promote his worthless 'UCSY' shares might get old.Originally I imagined it was because New Orleans was too close to his scam in Miami but then again he sent 120 or so fictitious 'airwater machines' to Texas somewhere in one press release.

What's polluting the Columbia River Gorge? A recent study released identified a PGE coal burning plant, and one of the largest dairy farms in the nation... Threemile Canyon Farms.
While the Oregonian is publishing these reports today, The Portland Alliance was writing about this stinky huge farm back in september of 2005. Read the story here...
The anniversary for the war is here. We are all gathering in unity to show that we care and that we won't stand for an illegal war, as well as other things. We are all apathatic. We are all tied by the bounds of comfortability and convenience. We are all a sick joke, and so is this protest.
Ramallah- The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
condemns all those who directly or indirectly caused the criminal arrest of its General Secretary, his comrades, Brother Fu'ad ash-Shawbaki, and numerous other militants of various patriotic and Islamic forces who were subject to arbitrary political imprisonment based on American-Zionist dictates. The PFLP declares that the invader forces committed the crime of that arrest, as well as the attack on the Jericho prison and the destruction of the Muqata'ah building inside, with the complicity of America and Britain, as the officials of the Palestine Authority -- their minds controlled by the fear of the Israeli response to anything that they might do -- trembled and wavered.

Having pressured the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) into referring Iran to the UN, the Bush administration is engaged in a new round of diplomatic thuggery aimed at obtaining a UN Security Council statement as the fig leaf for aggressive action against Tehran.
The US is backing a draft drawn up by Britain and France that amounts to an ultimatum to Iran to end all uranium enrichment activity within a fortnight or face unspecified consequences. The fourth in a series of meetings involving the five permanent UN Security Council members—the US, Britain, France, China and Russia—broke up yesterday without any agreement. The Bush administration has made clear that it intends to act against Iran, with or without UN support. Its ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, spelled out Washington's contempt for the body in an interview on Monday with Fox News. He declared that Iran was "a real test for the Security Council," demonstrating that it was not just Tehran but the UN that had to measure up to US demands. In language that recalls the lies and threats employed before the US invasion of Iraq, Bolton provocatively declared: "If the UN Security Council can't deal with the proliferation of nuclear weapons, can't deal with the greatest threat we have with a country like Iran—that's one of the leading state sponsors of terrorism—if the Security Council can't deal with that, you have a real question of what it can deal with."
On January 1, the national Russian energy company GASPROM cut off gas supplies to the Ukraine in order to enforce a five-fold price increase. As a former Soviet republic, the Ukraine had previously received Russian gas for the special price of $50 for 1,000 cubic metres—just one-fifth of the world price.
A compromise defused the conflict after a few days, but the fundamental problems remain. Alexander Rahr, a German expert on Russian affairs, pointed out that throughout the Cold War, Moscow had never used its "most effective instrument of power"—the "energy weapon". He concluded that the fact that the Kremlin was now using this "weapon" represented a new stage in the development of the international situation. He connected the "gas war" to the growing encirclement of Russia by the US and the increasingly embittered relations between Moscow and Washington. According to Rahr: "After the loss of its influence on the Ukraine, Russia, during the first half of the year, also had to accept the loss of its sphere of interest in the South Caucasus and vacate its military bases in Georgia. With the opening up of the Baku-Ceyhan oil pipeline, Moscow had lost to the West its monopoly over energy supplies from the Caspian region.

The middle class cannot do what corporations do.. German corporations pay little corporation tax; their share amounts to 2.6% of all taxes. For decades, they even received more subsidies than the profit taxes paid in Germany. Corporate enrichment causes deficits in the US.
It should now be apparent to all that the usual strategies have proven ineffective against the ultra-right of today. The reasons are clear; the right is playing hard, fast and bold while the opposition is lost in analysis and navel gazing. 'Storming the Bastille' may again be required to precipitate change. Demos, alternative media, various forms of dissenting propaganda have all failed to alter the course of events. It would seem that while one side is playing hardball (for keeps) the other is content to fossick on the shores of world-shaping politics.
