Recently, while explaining away his troubles with a Texas grand jury, Tom DeLay (The hammer) quoted former New York Judge Sol Wachter, by saying that "grand juries, it's all one sided. It is all in what he presents the grand jury, how he spins, how he presents it. Everybody (Judge Wachter) says YOU CAN INDICT A HAM SANDWICH WITH A GRAND JURY. This is a ham sandwich indictment without the ham."
Among the major issues that Portland should contemplate is the growing racial and class divide it is experiencing, particularly among the city's large Black and Brown communities.
While many activists nowadays are wasting their time dealing with petty single-issue concerns, this is that diabolical treason against humanity we are faced with. The author of this is unknown, but whoever wrote the following is either someone who has a vivid understanding of our enemy, or was written by an operative of the enemy itself. The war in Iraq, to understate the case, is not going well for the U.S. imperialists. The resistance to the U.S. occupation within Iraq has spread and grown more capable. The conflicts between the many different political, ethnic and class forces within Iraq show little sign of resolution, and the puppet Iraqi army is still not able to fight on its own. In response, the U.S. has escalated its tactics of wholesale terror directed against the Sunni Muslim population as a whole, which is the main (though not the only) base of the insurgency. Making all this worse--from the imperialist standpoint, that is--is the increasingly widespread and sharp sentiment against the war within the U.S. itself. And interplaying with that is a growing disaffection and anger within the army itself.
It seems that the producers of the "less lethal weapon" that was responsible for the death of Fouad Kaady as well as untold others have been de listed at NASDAQ, and their owners lost 14+per cent of their investments on this account. Aw, maybe it will put the bastards out of business? Doubt it. Small slap for such an insidious outfit. Torture bad, caring good.

The folks who tried to privatize Social Security are now reaching for our public lands, including areas in national parks. Tucked into the House budget bill was a provision to sell public lands at giveaway prices. It passed in the House by a vote of 217-215 on November 18, 2005. Now it will go to the Senate. These massive land sales could generate an estimated $158 million -- which is not even enough for one day of war in Iraq.
