Griffin Seals Case for WTC Demolition, Calls on NY Times to End Coverup
n two speeches to overflow crowds in New York last weekend, notable theologian David Ray Griffin argued that recently revealed evidence seals the case that the Twin Towers and WTC-7 were destroyed by controlled demolition with explosives. Despite the many enduring mysteries of the 9/11 attacks, Dr. Griffin concluded, "It is already possible to know, beyond a reasonable doubt, one very important thing: the destruction of the World Trade Center was an inside job, orchestrated by terrorists within our own government."

Bush or Saddam: Who Has Killed More People?
The trial of Saddam Hussein is the headline on all the news stations. Yet most of the things they are saying about Saddam, actually apply to GWBush, and many to his dad, George Bush, Sr., as well. When does Bush go on trial for HIS war crimes? When do the Iraqi people get to finally testify about the atrocities and cruel deaths GWBush caused on their land?

The Lobsters Just about everyday, the news is bad! The economy is going to hell, the Iraqi War continues unabated and the energy crisis is shifting into high gear. Maybe, Carl Jung was right when he said, "The people can't stand too much reality."

EFF cracks government printer tracking codes
So the US government has successfully convinced some printer makers to put tracking codes into color printers which will identify the printer by model and serial number as well as provide a date/time stamp on the printed page. So far only the Xerox DocuColor has been cracked and anyone with the printers which include this information are encouraged to send test prints to EFF so they can be cracked as well. I'd also encourage people to avoid buying printers from companies who have engaged in this practice. As for me, I was about to by a laser printer from brother but now I will go with another manufacturer, perhaps samsung. --tc

We Will Not Be Broken! Thousands walk off the job in support of striking teachers
Despite government threats, thousands walked off the job in support of striking teachers on Monday. Businesses were up in arms at the refusal of BC workers to adhere to the law. "People must obey the law", Jerry Lampert from the Business Council of British Columbia warned, "or we are on the short or long road to anarchy in this province, and we just can't afford that". Lampert's comments, cited by speakers at the rally, provoked the laughter of thousands of striking teachers and their supporters. When faced with the gross disavowal of worker's rights, thousands have shown that the law is illegitimate not the strike.

Proposed $500 cap on non-cash donations would end important new industry.
The donation services industry has emerged as the most promising and positive new industry in decades - holding unique potential for creating prosperity and restoring hope among those at the lower end of our economy.

This vital, emerging industry will end if Congress chooses to adopt the recommendation of the Joint Commission on Taxation Reform to cap deductions for homeowner non-cash donations at $500.

In October, Senators Gordon Smith and Ron Wyden were requested to sponsor legislation requiring detailed documentation above $500, thereby preserving and fostering the most important new industry in decades that specifically benefits those at the lower end of our economy. In terms of both economic force, and positive social impact, preserving the donation services industry is crucial.

General Strike Begins in British Columbia
In a matter of days, all of the contradictions that have been building over the last four years in British Columbia have come to the fore. Gordon Campbell's mis-named Liberals have spent their time in power attacking the working class - slashing social programs, closing schools and hospitals, ripping up collective agreements and sending tuition sky-rocketing. This has been met with several waves of unrest. The workers of this province have fought back with demonstrations, strikes and occupations. The movement has passed through many different stages; the working class has learned from bitter experience. Now this battle is reaching new heights. The province stands on the brink of an all-out general strike.

Bush Family & Financier Berezovsky (fled Russian CRIMINAL) dumb down kids after CIA coups
After the CIA topples local governments on the periphery of Russia, Bush family cleans up as they move in to change educational systems into "edu-tainment" to dumb them down like the USA:

Bush, appeared with his business partner, the fugitive Russian oligarch and Israeli citizen, Boris Berezovsky. Berezovsky's appearance in Riga with the brother of the George W. Bush caused significant consternation for Latvia due to Russian demands for his extradition on charges of fraud....Moscow Times reported recently that Berezovsky's investment in Bush's Austin, Texas-based "edu-tainment" company, Ignite, Inc., links him with a well-connected group of former and current shareholders such as ex-President George H.W. Bush and major Asian and Middle East financiers....Berezovsky has helped Bush promote his company in countries of the former Soviet Union that are no longer within Moscow's sphere of influence, including [the CIA overthrown attempt in] Ukraine, [the CIA couped Georgia, and most recently, Latvia.

Oppose Torture (update)
What's happening with Bush's attempt to block passage of the McCain-Graham-Durbin Amendment to stop officially sanctioned torture by the U.S. military, intelligence agencies and U.S.-hired "independent" contractors?

The issue remains hidden behind the scenes since October 7, when the Defense Appropriations Bill was sent back to the House of Representatives from the Senate -- where the anti-torture amendment had been added by a vote of 90-9.

The Senate action to add the anti-torture provision was widely reported as defying the administration and its allies in Congress -- the Republican majority leadership in the House and the Senate.

CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES! ESPECIALLY, Greg Walden (2nd Dist.), Oregon's only Republican representative. In your e-mail, note that Senator Smith, (like Walden, Smith is from Eastern Oregon and is a Republican), was one of the anti-torture amendment's nine co-sponsors in the Senate!

The prison industry in the United States: big business or a new form of slavery?
From Cuba's WWW.GRANMA.CU

HUMAN rights organizations, as well as political and social ones, are condemning what they are calling a new form of inhumane exploitation in the United States, where they say a prison population of up to 2 million - mostly Black and Hispanic - are working for various industries for a pittance. For the tycoons who have invested in the prison industry, it has been like finding a pot of gold. They don't have to worry about strikes or paying unemployment insurance, vacations or comp time. All of their workers are full-time, and never arrive late or are absent because of family problems; moreover, if they don't like the pay of 25 cents an hour and refuse to work, they are locked up in isolation cells.
