BANG! BIG NEWS ON MICROSOFT: Slavery to It Is Ending
Scientist holds full-fledged diskless computer -- a real computer for $220. Mass-produced computers can KILL Microsoft. They'll be too cheap to accommodate MS Windows -- MS's bread and butter. Computers will go the way of TVs and VCRs -- cheap offshore production. They'll be cheap, simple, general-purpose (free software), all-electronic (no disk drive)-- in other words, real electronic computers, finally. The opening shot was fired in Bangalore India on May 16, 2005.

The “Illusion” of Two “Parties”
"For those that find this unacceptable and would like to join me in letting the people in congress know just exactly how you feel and what you think of what they are doing in your name..........."

I'm tired of this nonsense about letting members of the illusionsry two- parties know how you feel. They could care less. And the only hopeful alternative, The Green Party, neutered itself in 2004.

Tonight at 7pm about 300 people gathered in the gym of Cedar Park Middle School to attend a rally put on by Save Cedar Mill. Save Cedar Mill is the group that has formed in just 90 days to a size of about 1000 people. It was a well organized and well set up rally complete with door greeters (that was me!), interesting speakers, and a large turnout. It was a kind of pep-rally to keep people motivated and interested in the cause.

Conyers for President 17.05.2005 20:53
Conyers on White House Newsweek Scam
Congressman John Conyers today attacked the bullshit White House scam to shift the blame for blasphemous abuse of the Quran by U.S. interrogators in Gauntanamo. The White House wants Americans to believe that NewsWeek magazine is responsible for rioting and deaths -- the anger and resentment of Islamic people all around the world. But we know that the White House is responsible. The U.S. neo-con PNAC administration is responsible.

Conyers: "What we are witnessing is nothing more than an attempt to intimidate the press corps so that they will be afraid to do their jobs. Simply put, we must not allow this to happen, particularly when the struggle to hold this Administration accountable has been so difficult."

There are serious, serious questions about the White House's conduct in the Newsweek matter. More importantly, there are countless unanswered questions about documented and verified cases of detainee abuse and other matters. These questions must be answered.

CONYERS OPEN LETTER TO WHITE HOUSE:

A Bear on the Loose
A bear has been spotted running through my community today. The police tracked it throughout the day, and eventually chased it back into the woods out by the airport. This evening, I saw a report about it all on the corporate media, and wondered what I was seeing. In the news broadcast, I saw images of the "big bear" taken from a helicopter in the skies above, and heard a frightening tale of the "marauding" bear. Police cars cruised the area, calling from loudspeakers to people, asking them to say indoors. It looked like war.

Why it is most likely that an American Airlines 757-223 hit it the Pentagon
small hole controversy When I was gathering and analyzing all this data for a website, I just assumed that the hole was indeed too small for a 757 to have passed through. However, that changed the moment I read all the eye-witness accounts of the people who had been present that day at the Pentagon. Almost every single one described a large American Airlines jetliner that came crashing into the building. It was also interesting to see how some people just couldn't believe how such a large airplane had "disappeared" in such a small hole. I have gathered and organized all of these eye-witness accounts in a different article that can be found here. In that article, you will also find my views on every single theory that has been put forth about the Pentagon crash. In this article I will try to prove that the damage that was done to the Pentagon allows for a 757-223 to have crashed. But regardless of what crashed at the Pentagon, questions will remain. Those are put forth in the last part of this article (see link for full article).

Goodbye democracy
We have pretty much said goodbye to democracy in this country. Now it looks like we may soon be saying goodbye to the constitutional republic.

I don't know if anyone much cares anymore. The Constitution is a shredded and stained thing. The kind of patriotism that citizens exhibited in World War II, in the Civil War, in the old American Revolution -- that's dead. Yes, I know, in WW II there was segregation in the military (Black units and White units), in the Civil War it was Americans fighting Americans and in the beginning, it was all to create a democracy where for sure some were to be "more equal" than others. BUT they did, back in the day, think about the Constitution and take it seriously. That's how come the Civil War happened anyway. They had strong opinions, would take only so much, and had the testicular fortitude to back it up.

FINALLY, the battle is to rage THIS WEEK in the Senate over the filibuster and Bush's control of the courts. The gauntlet will be laid down when the Republicans bring the nomination of Priscilla Owen to the entire Senate for confirmation. Who is Priscilla Owen? She's a lawyer who got her start working for oil and gas corporations in Texas, both before and after she became a judge. Bush wants to reward all her great work with a life-time appointment to the big 5th circuit court of appeals, that presides over Texas and adjacent states.

Democrats in the Senate will have to oppose that nomination (and several others) with everything they've got. Which ain't much these days, but it's still something.

Women Take Back the Green Bridge
About 100 people gathered on the corner of Highway 199 and Eight Dollar Road in the Illinois Valley this morning to protest logging at the Biscuit timber sales. The crowd walked a few miles to the closure line and were not met by any law enforcement. The closure blocks public access to the Fiddler timber sale and the famed Babyfoot Lake area.

A group of women crossed the closure line and walked 3 illegal miles of public land to the Green Bridge. Five women locked arms and sat down on the bridge, blocking logging trucks that were carting away Fiddler Mountain Old-Growth. All five were arrested and taken to Josephine County Jail.
