Mozilla FIREFOX 1.0 out: download & replace spyware/virus prone Internet Explorer Browser!
Plus, I just got a MYDOOM virus recently, and, in cleaning up after it and learning about it, found it was entirely due to Internet Explorer flaws. I'm gone from IE.

The whole Mozilla project (including the Firefox broswer) is an open source supporting organization. Support open source infrastructure as much as possible. It's less risky as well:

"Internet monitoring firm WebSideStory has charted the growing population of people using the Firefox browser and says it is responsible for slowly eroding the stranglehold of IE. Before July this year, according to WebSideStory, Internet Explorer was used by about 95% of web surfers. That figure had remained static for years. In July the IE using population dropped to 94.7% and by the end of October stood at 92.9%." Microsofts slow collapse? Hopefully.

"Firefox is proving popular because, at the moment, it has far fewer security holes than Internet Explorer and has some innovations lacking in Microsoft's program. For instance, Firefox allows the pages of different websites to be arranged as tabs so users can switch easily between them. It blocks pop-ups, has a neat way of finding text on a page and lets you search through all the pages you have browsed."

AND TO PIMC? Can you check compatability with the Firefox browser? I have noted that subsections are slightly messed up (on the far right column) though everything else looks great!

Next stop! removing the fascist e-vote machines...

Man commits suicide at World Trade Center site to protest Iraq war and Bush reelection
A twenty-five year-old man, Andrew Veal, killed himself with a shotgun November 6 on the site where the World Trade Center stood before September 11, 2001. No suicide note was found, but the choice of the location was presumed to be a protest against the Iraq war and President Bush's reelection days earlier.

Veal's supervisor at the University of Georgia research center, where he managed the call center, told the press, "I'm absolutely sure it's a protest. I don't know what made him commit suicide, but where he did it was symbolic."

Crimes Against Nature, editorial by John F. Kennedy, Jr.; 80% hate Bush's enviro. policies
You have a stark choice America: go green, local, democratic, and live--- This commentary appears in the November 2004 issue of The Ecologist. It is by John F. Kennedy Jr., the son of the late former U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy (assassinated 1968).

This John F. Kennedy Jr. is a lawyer and environmental campaigner.

"You simply can't talk honestly about the environment today without criticizing U.S. President. George W. Bush will go down as the worst environmental president and America's history. His administration has launched more than 300 major rollbacks of U.S. averment laws, rollbacks their weakening the protection of the country's air, water, public lands and wildlife. Such attacks, of course, are hardly popular. National polls consistently show that more than 80 percent of the American public (with little difference between Republican and Democratic rank and file) want their environmental laws strengthened and strictly enforced. In March 2003 memo to his party's leadership, Republican pollster Frank Luntz noted: "The environment is probably the single issue on which Republicans in general and President Bush in particular are most vulnerable." Luntz cautioned that the U.S. public is inclined to see the Republicans as being "in the pockets of corporate fat cats who rub their hands together and chuckle maniacally as a plot to put America for fun and profit." Luntz warned: "not only do we risk losing the swing vote, but our suburban female base could be abandoned as well."

[You have a stark choice, O America of both the right and left, increasingly framed by Bush himself: go democratic, green, local, and live; or go transnational corporate fascist and die.]

Why the Blue States should Divorce the Red States
...they would finally be free to have the kind of society they've always wanted; church and state can be fused so they build the kind of theocracy they've dreamt of, with Jesus at the helm. (They) can ban books, repeal civil rights, persecute gays and have all the wars they like. They want prayer in schools? More power to them.

We'll be free to live with our like-minded countrymen who believe in science, modernism, tolerance, religion as a personal choice, and truly want limited government intrusion in our personal lives. Why should each side be driven mad by the other any more, decade after decade?

Peaceful Secession IS Possible!
From 1790 until 1990 there were only a few cases of successful peaceful secession. Belgium seceded from the Netherlands in 1830; Norway from Sweden in 1905; and Singapore from the Malaysian Federation in 1965. All were negotiated peacefully.

But suddenly after 1990, the number of successful peaceful secessions surged. Fifteen republics seceded from the Soviet Union. A Czech and a Slovak republic were created out of Czechoslovakia through secession.
