How Gore Lied Us Into War
September 3, 2004
When President Al Gore was inaugurated in January 2001, few Americans
imagined that before his first term ended, our country would be at war
with Sweden. Indeed, Mr. Gore's campaign suggested he would reduce
American commitments abroad, avoid foreign adventures and forgo
"nation building," which American voters long ago realized costs heaps
of money and does not work.

Kerry needs to explain Iraq position, fast
Several times recently on the Jim Lehrer News Hour, the Shields part of the long time "Shields and Brooks" political punditry (opposite's attract; "fair and balanced") team of Washington "insiders", punditized that, in response to the Brooks part saying that the New York GOP convention protesters were people "without a party," the reason, according to Shields, that Kerry wasn't getting traction in the polls was because of his asinine answer standing in front of the Grand Canyon several weeks ago that, IF HE KNEW THEN WHAT HE KNOWS NOW ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR, HE WOULD STILL VOTE FOR IT.

US: Food Waste and Hunger Exist Side by Side
Official surveys indicate that every year more than 350 billion pounds (160 billion kg) of edible food is available for human consumption in the United States. Of that total, nearly 100 billion pounds (45 billion kg) -- including fresh vegetables, fruits, milk, and grain products -- are lost to waste by retailers, restaurants, and consumers.

By contrast, the amount of food required to meet the needs of the hungry is only four billion pounds, according to Food Not Bombs, an advocacy group, which estimates that every year more than 30 million people in the United States are going hungry on regular basis.

Top 25 Censored Stories list: 'Bush did 9-11' only rates a vague indirect #9?!
CAN THIS BEAR MENTIONING? Internal detonations BEFORE WTCs fell Even Project Censored has failed, utterly failed. It has taken the coward's way out, only mentioning 9-11 in an indirect way (as the Widow Mariani's 9-11 RICO suit against Bush and company) when there is patent evidence that Bush did 9-11 in so many other blatant areas that it would take a (Democratic donkey's) ass or a (Republican pink) elephant to be that blind to it! --- Sure, vote fraud ranks up there, so does depleted uranium. And privatized though state funded nuclear reactors are there! (damn bastards, that has to be stopped. that one did get by me.) Though where is mention of the lies of the main floodgate--September 11, 2001--that unleashed these things in a twilight world, hey, do you think that that can spare a mention more than simply a 'lawsuit' or something? Have some scruples, Project Censored. You really have blown it. What else have they left out? --- Put in Nazi Germany for the U.S. or America when it is mentioned below. It reads more comprehensibly.

Columbia Logo with Sweatband Quietly growing like a cancer on the distant northern fringes of Portland, locally-owned Columbia Sportswear has made good in the sweatshop-manufactured sporting-goods distribution business. Huge profits and a bright future have not trickled down to even their American workers, who labor on the banks of the Columbia River much as if they were sweatshop workers themselves. Meanwhile, the company has been very careful to keep the roots of their successful business model out of the press, and have generally avoided any association with the word "sweatshop".

Historians Dispute Schwarzenegger's Convention Comments
Austrian historians are challenging California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for telling the Republican National Convention that he saw Soviet tanks in his homeland as a child and that he left a "Socialist" country when he moved away in 1968.

"It's a fact -- as a child he could not have seen a Soviet tank in Styria," the southeastern province where Schwarzenegger was born and raised, historian Stefan Karner told the Vienna newspaper Kurier.

Schwarzenegger, now a naturalized U.S. citizen, was born on July 30, 1947, when Styria and the neighboring province of Carinthia belonged to the British zone. At the time, postwar Austria was occupied by the four wartime allies, which also included the United States, the Soviet Union and France.

The Soviets already had left Styria in July 1945, less than three months after the end of the war, Karner noted.

Cowboys and Indians: Perspectives on Patterns of U.S. and Israeli Colonization
reservations have systematically emasculated and dehumanized the aboriginal race in order to eradicate any future notions of nationalism, independence and Statehood. Reservations are essentially long-term tools of colonization in order to make natives powerless in reclaiming their lands for independent Statehood. As such, aboriginals on reservations are essentially powerless to reclaim their lands through legal or political institutions. These governments have succeeded in systematically eliminating the notion of natives reclaiming their lands through political, legal, or military force. Such native notions of nationalism, land reclamation, justice and political independence has been deliberately erased with the colonizer's marginalized vision of reservation existence.
