"I have always fought against fascism, notably through [the films I show]. For me, 'Passion' is a film of fascist propaganda."
.."turning violence and barbarity into a spectacle". "Behind this Passion ... you can glimpse a whole internationale of religious fundamentalism, a martyrology based on violence, contempt for the body and hatred of the human element," he said.
Run, Ralph, run. Run left, run right, run as constitutionalist liberal, as antiwar patriot, as a man proud to stand in the Bryan-La Follette-Gene McCarthy-Paul Goodman tradition. You'd be surprised at how many Main Street conservatives, disaffected Republicans, and pissed-off libertarians wish you well.
I just finished working 53 hrs this week. I slept all day. I almost crashed my bike into a brick wall biking home from work. I spent the next five minutes giggling and biking exhausted thinking how funny it is to almost crash going slowly on a bike. To see yourself pedalling in slow motion the bike wobbling and having time to correct yourself; unlike war.

![]() With the help of Oregon this week, the continued support of thousands of passionately devoted voluteers and contributors, and the continued presence and momentum of Ralph Nader as a third voice in the election that will could potentially cost John Kerry the election if progressive Kucinich backers are alienated from the party, Dennis will surely still become the big surprise of the 2004 Elections.Remember to get out and vote this week, remind friends and family, and attend DK's events when he comes through. This is your chance to offer a shred of hope for Americans and the world that the occupation of Iraq can still be ended, and the United States can still take a new direction and embrace the world community moving torwards human unity. People in Oregon now have the opportunity to make a difference in the outcome of the 2004 Elections. While it may seem certain that Kerry has the Democratic nomination all locked up, it is not certain what the Democratic platform will look like, where the democrats will stand up to Bush and where they will give in to the status quo policies. Kucinich is determined to make the voice of progressives heard in this years election, and with Oregon's help in the state primary, and the volunteer work and contributions of thousands of devoted campaign workers, and with Ralph Nader's presence as a vibrant 3rd party voice that could cost the Democrats the key progressive votes, Dennis still can prove to be the big surprise of the 2004 election. Here then is why Israel did not wish to make an appearance at the Hague but sent instead a bus. All of these offenses needed to be discussed but Israel refused to be present. The US continues to reward such behavior with American Tax Dollars.
For young Americans who care more about G-Unit than the GOP, choosing their favorite music videos on MTV's "Total Request Live" may be as close as they've come to the democratic process.
Supporters of Kucinich and Nader sometimes appear to be engaged in a bitter battle --- Nader partisans dredging up votes from the congressional record of Kucinich to show that Dennis is just another version of plain-old corrupt "liberal" Democrat while Kucinich advocates have a hard time restraining themselves from calling a vote for Nader a vote for Bush by another name. But if you look at things from a holistic viewpoint, sometimes what appears to be hotly competitive hostility turns out to be cool cooperation. It's a "ZEN" thing, like dancing blind and without touching, but . . .
![]() The case Cheney vs. U.S. District Court is scheduled to be heard before the Supreme Court next month and could end up revealing more about the Bush administration's motives for the 2003 Iraq war than any conceivable investigation of U.S. intelligence concerning Iraq's purported weapons of mass destruction.

We need you as part of this campaign, this crusade'," Powell recalled in testimony before a commission investigating the attacks.

Portland, OR-- After two bicycles collided at relatively high speed on the corner of SW 4th and Harrison, neither rider suffered injuries nor did they engage in an aggressive blaming game. They walked their bicycles to the side of the road, checked themselves out, checked out their bikes, re-adjusted the minor bike damages, thanked the intersection of time and space that they were OK and that bikes do less damge than cars, and went on their ways.

Rand Beers, the official who succeeded Clarke after he left the White House in February 2003, resigned in protest just one month later--five days before the Iraqi war started--for precisely the same reason that Clarke quit.
The retail price of gasoline hit an all-time high Tuesday--nearly $1.74 per gallon nationwide--reflecting strong demand, tight supplies and the high cost of oil, AAA reported.
This year, the effect on price has been magnified because commercial inventories of gasoline are already low. For the week ended March 12, U.S. gasoline inventories stood at 199.6 million barrels, down from 202.1 million barrels a year ago. Crude oil for May delivery sold for $37.47 per barrel Tuesday on the New York Mercantile Exchange, up 42 cents. The price of oil is below recent highs but still near its highest level in 14 years. Senators Charles Schumer of New York, Barbara Boxer of California and Harry Reid of Nevada urged the Bush administration Tuesday to help ease gasoline prices by releasing oil from the SPR, which is close to its 700-million-barrel capacity at 648 million barrels as of March 12.

They don't tell you what terrorism is, but then again they tell you over and over again.
Today, much of the world is convinced the Bush Administration did not wage war against Iraq and Saddam Hussein because of threat from weapons of mass destruction, nor from terror dangers. Still a puzzle, however, is why Washington would risk so much in terms of relations with its allies and the entire world, to occupy Iraq. There is compelling evidence that oil and geopolitics lie at the heart of the still-hidden reasons for the military action in Iraq.
Despite President Bush's pledge that homosexuals "ought to have the same

Never having been a big reader per se, I think that I can attest without duplicity that my readership is in fact overly sceptical. So on the occasion when I peruse the literary scene I have in mind nothing and thus seek out a story that I have neither read nor seen. Something that grabs my attention. Suffice to write, I am often lead to writers who happen to be female and also works that deal in some way with sexuality. The Left Hand of Darkness (©1969, Penguin paperback), the early work by LeGuin, was something I came across in reference to sexuality and science fiction.

U.S.-backed candidate Tony Saca won this weekend's national elections in El Salvador, beating former guerilla leader Schafik Handal.
Dennis Kucinich said, "Unfortunately, what is going on in El Salvador is representative of a Latin American policy that is not about promoting healthy democracies, but instead focused on making Latin American nations bend to U.S. commercial interests."

Recordings from a volcano-top observatory, NOAA's Mauna Loa Observatory on Hawaii, showed carbon dioxide levels had risen to an average of about 376 parts per million (ppm) for 2003.
This is 2.5 ppm up from the average for 2002. It is not the highest leap in year-on-year atmospheric carbon dioxide levels recorded by NOAA. But it is the first to be sustained, with 2002 levels up 2.5 ppm from 2001. This year-on-year hike is considerably larger than the average annual increase of about 1.5 ppm seen over the last few decades says Pieter Tans, chief scientist at NOAA's climate monitoring and diagnostic lab in Boulder, Colorado, US. Other NOAA scientists suggest that economic development in China and India, which leads to increased fuel use, could be a key factor.
