OSU graduate teaching and research assistants and OSU classifed staff rallied last wednesday to demand that OSU settle their negotiations. The grad assistants of the Coalition of Graduate Employees (CGE) were demanding that OSU admin settle their health insurance negotiations. The classified employees (OPEU SEIU) were demanding the univerisity hold the line on benefits and finish their contract negotiations. Both parties were told they would be recieving offers at the table by the administration.
The Issue of a Multnomah Public Utility District hasn't been discussed much on IMC of late. The issue will hit hard this fall. It's time for us Indymedia people to go over the issues and talk about them seriously. There's a lot to this proposal the agitators and signature gatherers don't know or don't want to address. On May 21st in Manila, hunger strikers ended a month long fast protesting the commercialization of genetically engineered Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) corn in the Philippines. "We have done everything that is humanly possible to stop the poisoned seeds of genetically modified corn from being planted in our farms," ....
Just a quick question... Is there currently any list of anarchist organizations, collectives, or places (community support centers, etc) in the Portland area? I think it would be neat to be able to have a map of Portland, with the buildings of anarchist activities ("liberated areas") highlighted.
