Analysis: The War Is Over
An analysis of the current campaign in Iraq and the real objectives of the war, with parallels to Hitler's invasion of Poland, the sieges of Stalingrad and Leningrad, and lessons from Gulf War I. Though the war has not ended, the main objective for the U.S. has been fulfilled.

Morning Bridge Protests?
I am interested in joining or forming a group of protesters to use big signs and a small amount of people to promote peace on the bridges and major roads into downtown every morning. I remember seeing these protests before: they were moving. One Word per sign type of a deal, 4 or 5 people (On the sidewalks) per bridge. Let me know if anyone is interested. I think getting people a message to think about at the beginning of their BORING work day is a great idea.

Death at our April Fools Pro-WAR rally
Death at our April Fools Pro-WAR rally "And war must always be a last resort, not a first choice." -- Senator Byrd

That quote is just the kind of crap you expect to hear from a stirred up Democrat. Fortunately, the Democratic leadership is still just as stirred up about the war as a three week old cadaver. I made a "protest sign" to let America know just how my grateful I am that they did not listen to Senator Byrd. Here are the photos I took on April 1st. (article 1)

Emperor George The US was, after all, a country founded in a rebellion against imperialism. US officer admits: 'We don't understand Iraqis'
Two weeks into the war in Iraq, some senior military commanders are beginning to admit that American understanding of the Arab world is limited and that they still have to convince the Iraqis that they are liberators, not occupiers.

In one of the most low-key assessments of the war so far, a high-ranking American officer said it would be "unrealistic" to expect Baghdad to fall within days.

"There is a big cultural difference between the US and the Arab world. That makes it hard," said the highly experienced officer, who has been closely involved in the planning of the war.

It will end in disaster
Even if, having held out for many weeks or months, Saddam Hussein is found and killed, his spirit may continue to inspire a revolt throughout the Muslim world, against the Americans, the British and, of course, Israel. Pakistan's unpopular leader, Pervez Musharraf, would then find himself in serious trouble. If, as seems likely in these circumstances, he is overthrown in an Islamic revolt, then a fundamentalist regime, deeply hostile to the west, would possess real nuclear weapons, primed and ready to fire.
