Heiner Flassbeck expects a slump of the German GDP of 20-30%, Neither Trump nor Merkel said a word about stabilizing the economy. You can't just shut down the economy and then hope nothing happens. Companies, banks, and people must be supported. Money must go to those now becoming unemployed.

Democracy is an achievement and must be won anew, expanded and defended against attacks in every era... The political conformity of the mainstream press is a sad chapter. "Representative democracy" is a fine word, but who do the representatives actually represent today? Citizens want "representatives of the people" who take their will into account. This is translated from the German journal "Behind the Headlines."

A dirty little trick used by the JBLM police is to issue citations based on made up evidence to harass and intimidate those of us who openly support Black Lives Matter and strongly oppose government abuse and misconduct. They have no real intention of winning the case in court, rather they use the citations as a method of costing you thousands of dollars in attorney's fees if you go to court or hundreds of dollars in fines and court costs if you just pay the bogus citations.

On May 26, as demonstrations around the country erupted over the police killing of George Floyd, the FBI signed an expedited agreement to extend its relationship with Dataminr, a company that monitors social media.
A few days later, the agency modified an agreement it signed in February with Venntel, Inc., a Virginia technology firm that maps and sells the movements of millions of Americans. The company purchases bulk location data and sells it largely to government agencies. It's not clear exactly how the February Venntel contract was modified. Chris Gildea, the president of Venntel, did not respond to a request for comment. The company is a subsidiary of Gravy Analytics, a major data broker that sells location-tracking information to advertisers and other clients, which also declined to comment "due to the confidential nature of that work." A spokesperson for the FBI also declined to comment for this article. Dataminr, which already held contracts with the FBI worth over $1 million, monitors social media for breaking news and events. "Dataminr provides the FBI with First Alert, a product that delivers breaking news alerts on emergency events, such as natural disasters, fires, explosions and shootings," noted a spokesperson for Dataminr in a statement. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report that government agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had tapped Venntel for tax and immigration enforcement, respectively. After the initial story ran, Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., reportedly reached out to the company to inquire about the federal government's use of the technology — but that the company declined to answer most questions.

Documents obtained by The Intercept via the Freedom of Information Act reveal that a Pentagon war game, called the 2018 Joint Land, Air and Sea Strategic Special Program, or JLASS, offered a scenario in which members of Generation Z, driven by malaise and discontent, launch a "Zbellion" in America in the mid-2020s.
The Zbellion plot was a small part of JLASS 2018, which also featured scenarios involving Islamist militants in Africa, anti-capitalist extremists, and ISIS successors. The war game was conducted by students and faculty from the U.S. military's war colleges, the training grounds for prospective generals and admirals. The war game, which covers the future through early 2028, is "intended to reflect a plausible depiction of major trends and influences in the world regions," according to the more than 200 pages of documents. According to the scenario, many members of Gen Z — psychologically scarred in their youth by 9/11 and the Great Recession, crushed by college debt, and disenchanted with their employment options — have given up on their hopes for a good life and believe the system is rigged against them. Gen Z are often described as seeking independence and opportunity but are also among the least likely to believe there is such a thing as the "American Dream," and that the "system is rigged" against them. Frequently seeing themselves as agents for social change, they crave fulfillment and excitement in their job to help "move the world forward." Despite the technological proficiency they possess, Gen Z actually prefer person-to-person contact as opposed to online interaction. They describe themselves as being involved in their virtual and physical communities, and as having rejected excessive consumerism.

The promise of police reform has repeatedly been offered up by the ruling class as a supposed solution to excessive violence. African Americans today account for more than 13 percent of police officers, a proportional representation compared to the population as a whole. Black police chiefs head departments across the country, and cities large and small have elected black mayors. In the last decade, the introduction of police vehicle dash cams and body cameras has been offered up as yet another panacea.
What is absent from all of the media commentary on police violence, let alone the statements from bourgeois politicians, is any examination of what the police are and their relationship to capitalist society. The police function not as an instrument of racial oppression, but as an instrument of class rule. Since Floyd was killed in Minneapolis, it is worth recalling the role of the police 86 years ago in beating strikers participating in the Minneapolis general strike of 1934. As social inequality and class tensions have grown over the past four decades, the size and budgets of the police have grown proportionately. The police account for between 20 and 45 percent of discretionary funding in the budgets of major US cities. Overall, spending on the police stands at $115 billion, up from $42 billion 40 years ago, in inflation-adjusted terms. How is this to be explained by racism? The international character of police violence—along with the proliferation of such violence in cities overseen by black police chiefs and black mayors—refutes the racialist narrative--the claim that what is involved in the US is the oppression of "black America" by "white America." Police violence is bound up with the character of capitalist society. The particular brutality of the police in the United States is to be explained by the particular brutality of class relations in America, the land of inequality and the home of the financial oligarchy.

The withdrawal of $475,000 in cash by the man who killed 22 Nova Scotians in April matches the method the RCMP uses to send money to confidential informants and agents, sources say. Gabriel Wortman, who is responsible for the largest mass killing in Canadian history, withdrew the money from a Brink's depot in Dartmouth, N.S., on March 30, stashing a carryall filled with hundred-dollar bills in the trunk of his car. According to a source close to the police investigation the money came from CIBC Intria, a subsidiary of the chartered bank that handles currency transactions.
Sources in both banking and the RCMP say the transaction is consistent with how the RCMP funnels money to its confidential informants and agents, and is not an option available to private banking customers. A Mountie familiar with the techniques used by the force in undercover operations says Wortman could not have collected his own money from Brink's as a private citizen. "There's no way a civilian can just make an arrangement like that," he said in an interview. A second Mountie, who does not know the first one but who has also been involved in CI operations, also believes that Wortman's ability to withdraw a large sum of money from Brink's is an indication that Wortman had a link with the police. "That's tradecraft," the Mountie said, explaining that by going through CIBC Intria, the RCMP could avoid typical banking scrutiny, as there are no holds placed on the money. "That's what we do when we need flash money for a buy. We don't keep stashes of money around the office. When we suddenly need a large sum of money to make a buy or something, that's the route we take. I think [with the Brink's transaction] you've proved with that single fact that he had a relationship with the police. He was either a CI or an agent."

MPD, after forming in 1867, made its reputation as a goon squad loyal to local capitalists. Cops fought class wars—actual, violent wars—against striking workers. In 1889, streetcar employees struck for fifteen days, protesting slashed wages. Police intervened. Trailblazing labor reporter Eva Valesh witnessed "a full force of police" ready to defend Thomas Lowry, the streetcar tycoon, and his property. "The mounted and foot police drew their clubs and dashed into the crowd," she wrote of one crackdown, where "patrol wagons carried full loads to the police station." The strike ended on company terms.
In the next century, MPD assumed a paramilitary role for the Citizens' Alliance, formed by elite businessmen in 1903 "to broaden and strengthen the war on unions." Cops sought "to harass, infiltrate, and attack labor groups," and terminated the 1909 Machinists' strike.
As corporate-friendly Republican members of the Senate Banking Committee and House Financial Services Committee engaged in effusive praise at hearings this week over the efforts of Fed Chairman Jerome Powell to quickly establish a plethora of corporate bailout facilities, the voices of Wall Street veterans have struck a different chord. These long-term market watchers are warning that the Fed has created an unprecedented stock market bubble that is destined to end badly.
Earlier this week, CNBC anchor Melissa Lee interviewed Sven Henrich, the Lead Market Strategist at Northman Trader. Henrich savaged the Fed's recent interventions in the market, stating the following: "The Fed really has created a massive asset bubble here in the last few months. The lender of last resort has become the lender of the entire resort. And no red line shall remain uncrossed. "The Fed has basically created a gambling casino at this point. And all the gamblers have moved in. From my perspective, the danger here is that the Fed is overdoing it and zombifying the economy. They're in the process of inserting itself ever deeper into markets. And that makes the Fed itself too big to fail. And the Fed losing control over the asset bubble is now the biggest risk factor to the economy. Remember Alan Greenspan mentioned if markets drop 10 percent that impacts GDP growth by 1 percent.
There is fresh evidence that Citigroup, the mega Wall Street bank that was insolvent but still illegally propped up by the Fed during the last financial crisis (to the tune of $2.5 trillion cumulatively in secret loans for two and one-half years) is back to drinking at the Fed's trough.
The Fed has set up a program called the Paycheck Protection Program Liquidity Facility (PPPLF), which is reimbursing small banks for the small business loans that they made under the Paycheck Protection Program established by Congress in the CARES Act and being overseen by the Small Business Administration (SBA). As of last Wednesday, not one mega Wall Street bank other than Citigroup had taken any of this Fed money. There was no JPMorgan Chase, no Wells Fargo, no Bank of America, no Morgan Stanley, no Goldman Sachs Bank USA on the Fed's list of reimbursements. The name of Citigroup's commercial bank, Citibank, however, appeared 34 times. The tally of Citibank's reimbursements on PPP loans from the Fed totaled $3.077 billion. That fact doesn't square with the narrative from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell about the condition of these mega banks on Wall Street.
Organized labor led no mass opposition to Trump's presidency or the December 2017 tax cut or the failed U.S. preparation for and management of COVID-19. Nor do we yet see a labor-led national protest against the worst mass firing since the 1930s Great Depression. All of these events, but especially the unemployment, mark an employers' class war against employees. The U.S. government directs it, but the employers as a class inspire and benefit the most from it.
Mass unemployment will bring the United States closer to less-developed economies. Very large regions of the poor will surround small enclaves of the rich. Narrow bands of "middle-income professionals," etc., will separate rich from poor. Ever-more rigid social divisions enforced by strong police and military apparatuses are becoming the norm. Their outlines are already visible across the United States. Only if workers understand and mobilize to fight this class war can the trends sketched above be stopped or reversed. U.S. workers did exactly that in the 1930s. They fought—in highly organized ways—the class war waged against them then. Millions joined labor unions, and many tens of thousands joined two socialist parties and one communist party. All four organizations worked together, in coalition, to mobilize and activate the U.S. working class.

The inability of the outdated capitalist economic system to provide for the needs of the people and to sustain itself has been exposed repeatedly throughout history. However, 2020 is revealing just how grave and profound the failures and dangers of this exhausted system of advanced commodity production are. Even mainstream news sources cannot prettify the numbers. On May 15, 2020 the Financial Times reported that, "U.S. industrial production contracted by the most in more than a century."1 Retail sales also fell by the most on record. In addition, the month of May saw the most large U.S. bankruptcy filings in 11 years.2 Further, while capacity utilization reached an all time high of 89 percent in 1967, it hit a record low of 65 percent in April 2020.3 Nearly a 25 percent drop in 53 years. Capacity utilization is an important economic measure that refers to the extent to which a capitalist firm uses its productive capacity. In other words, many enterprises are not operating anywhere near 100% capacity.
Black Lives Matter, founded in 2013 by a trio of middle class, queer black women very vocal against "hetero-patriarchy", is a product of what University of British Columbia's Peter Dauvergne defines as "corporatization of activism".
Over the years, Black Lives Matter evolved as a marketing brand, like Nike (which fully supports it). The widespread George Floyd protests elevated it to the status of a new religion. Yet Black Lives Matter carries arguably zero, true revolutionary appeal. This is not James Brown's "Say It Loud, I'm Black and I'm Proud". And it does not get even close to Black Power and the Black Panthers' "Power to the People". Black Lives Matter profited in 2016 from a humongous $100 million grant from the Ford Foundation and other philanthropic capitalism stalwarts such as JPMorgan Chase and the Kellogg Foundation. The Ford Foundation is very close to the U.S. Deep State. The board of directors is crammed with corporate CEOs and Wall Street honchos. In a nutshell; Black Lives Matter, the organization, today is fully sanitized; largely integrated into the Democratic Party machine; adored by mainstream media; and certainly does not represent a threat to the 0.001%. The sea of converts to the Black Lives Matter religion are products of the marriage between wokeness and intersectionality - the set of interlinked traits that since birth privileges heterosexual white men, now trying to expiate their guilt. Generation Z, unleashed en masse from college campuses across the U.S. into the jobs market, is a prisoner of this phenomenon: in fact a slave to - politically correct - identity politics. And once again, carrying zero revolutionary potential.

![]() Capitalism? No. the Federal Reserve is buying corporate assets in order to artificially prop up the stock market (whose 'rise' at present is the only illusory indicator showing "activity" in the U.S. economy: no money velocity, 30 million people unemployed, worldwide crude oil glut). Global central banks, helped by the Federal Reserve's asset infusions, are engaged in the same practices around the world. the Fed's actions have (by its own open admission) expanded to include stocks of large-cap corporations which have over the past decade extensively bought back shares of their own stocks. Where is the price discovery mechanism in any of this?
Lansing — The tracking of hundreds of Michigan Capitol protesters' cellphones from two rallies this spring has raised questions about protecting privacy rights, while testing limits of what location data can predict about the spread of the novel coronavirus from packed public events.
A liberal advocacy group most recently pursued the anonymized cellphone location data from more than 400 devices from individuals who attended the American Patriots Rally on April 30 in Lansing against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's stay-home orders and used it to gauge their locations the next day in a bid to determine the potential spread of the virus from the demonstration. The location of 422 cellphones within a roughly four-block radius of the Capitol showed individuals traveled back to areas throughout the state, including West Michigan, Metro Detroit, Northern Michigan and the Indiana border after the event, according to data obtained by VoteMap on behalf of the progressive group Committee to Protect Medicare and Affordable Care. "They ended up pretty much scattered across the state," said Dr. Rob Davidson, executive director of Committee to Protect Medicare, a west Michigan emergency room physician and a Democratic former congressional candidate.

Wall Street banks are hoping and praying that their crimes this time around don't see the light of day in the press and fuel a resurgence of the Occupy Wall Street protests. Thus far, Fed Chairman Powell's press conferences and TV appearances telling the public that these serial predator banks are "well capitalized" and "a source of strength" in this crisis, seem to be distracting mainstream media from what's really going on.
Without any Congressional hearings on the matter, the USA Patriot Act in 2001 bestowed on the 12 regional Federal Reserve banks domestic policing powers. While the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. is deemed an "independent federal agency," with its Chair and Governors appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate, the 12 regional Fed banks are private corporations owned by the member banks in their region. As settled law under John L. Lewis v. United States confirms: "Each Federal Reserve Bank is a separate corporation owned by commercial banks in its region." In the case of the New York Fed, which is located in the Wall Street area of Manhattan, its largest shareowners are behemoth multinational banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. So what the USA Patriot Act effectively did was to give multinational corporations domestic policing powers in New York City via the New York Fed.

this week, Federal Reserve chairman J. Powell confirmed that they have no plans to raise interest rates until at least the year 2022. Virtually guarantees that a global currency crisis involving the world's reserve fiat currency denomination, the U.S. dollar will occur involving inflation because global growth is able to sustain debt levels.
The Fed, which is the world's central bank (larger/more powerful than any others ECB, BoJ, BoE) and default reserve currency issuer, essentially has no other option at this point.
