The national and state governments work to set guidelines for those who wish to teach in secondary education. However, it is necessary for most interested students to obtain a secondary education degree. Let's take a look at the requirements that will make for a quality candidate in this field.
For decades, western societies were marked by processes of plualization, individualization, and liberalization. Why are attitudes and pressures of society against these trends becoming dominant? Why are escalating inequalities leading to the rise of right-wing protest movements and not primarily to renewed capitalism criticism? Fundamental changes in social morality and social praxis are the causes for the rise of the new right-wing parties. Right-wing populism is anti-liberal.

In the last speech of his victory tour in December 2016, Donald Trump promised: "Let's stop tearing down foreign regimes that we shouldn't have been involved with. Instead of investing in wars, we will invest in rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure... ".
Trump's unorthodox approach has encouraged him to challenge the essential logic of the U.S. military empire more than any previous president. And the final years of his administration will surely bring him more struggles over these issues with those in charge of the empire, predicts Gareth Porter in Truthdig. ![]()

Part 1 Because post-modernism does not go far enough, because post-modernism has not reached the zenith and apex of its critique and programme due to the fact it has been divorced from its motor force, anarchism, revolution/insurrection is unavoidable. In fact, post-modernism demands it. It demands the total realization of anarchism, that is, its own essence. Post-modernism demands the full-maturation of its inherent principles, radical equality, radical plurality and the total demolition of all meta-narratives. Its only recourse is post-modern anarchist revolution. In contrast, the meta-narrative of bourgeois-capitalism impedes post-modern growth and post-modern development at every turn. And, bourgeois-capitalism refuses to secede its rule and its dominion to intelligence and the future, calmly and quietly. As a result, revolution is unavoidable and a must. The revolution is a post-modern anarchist revolution. Namely, a revolution organized to overthrow all the lasting meta-narratives of the Enlightenment, specifically, bourgeois-capitalism. The objective of the post-modern anarchist revolution is nothing less than radical plurality, radical equality, and radical pragmatic-egalitarianism in all its shapes and forms. Nothing must be left unchanged. The post-modern anarchist revolution shall reach its logical conclusion, only when anarchist demolitionism rids the earth of the Enlightenment meta-narrative of bourgeois-capitalism, including the state-finance-corporate-aristocracy built and sustained upon it.

Bankers, agro-business elites, commercial mega owners, manufacturing, real estate and insurance bosses and their financial advisers, elite members of the 'ruling class', have launched a full-scale attack on private and public wage and salary workers, and small and medium size entrepreneurs (the members of the 'popular classes'). The attack has targeted income, pensions, medical plans, workplace conditions, job security, rents, mortgages, educational costs, taxation, undermining family and household cohesion. Big business has weakened or abolished political and social organizations which challenge the distribution of income and profits and influence the rates of workplace output. In brief the ruling classes have intensified exploitation and oppression through the 'class struggle' from above. We will proceed by identifying the means, methods and socio-political conditions which have advanced the class struggle from above and, conversely, reversed and weakened the class struggle from below.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement Saturday condemning a shooting attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue that left at least eight people dead and six others wounded. The conservative Israeli leader called the attack, which law enforcement sources told news outlets was committed by 46-year-old Robert Bowers, was a "horrifying" act of "anti-Semitic brutality" in a video.
"I was heartbroken and appalled by the murderous attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue today," Netanyahu says in the video. ![]() _____________ Netanyahu acts differently, however when it comes to European neo-fascist, Islamophobic and anti-immigration politics and governments. Netanyahu paid a visit to ultranationalist Hungary in 2017, right in the middle of a political storm caused by the Hungarian President Viktor Orban's remarks that were deemed anti-Semitic. Israel has also armed the Azov battalion, a neo-Nazi paramilitary organisation in Ukraine. Israel's regime under Netanyahu is presently waging a global campaign to redefine "anti-Semitism" (due to mounting opposition to Israel's resettlement policies), so Netanyahu's charged comments about the Tree of Life Congregation massacre in Pittsburgh today are multiple-layer murderously ironic.

So, it's three weeks before the US midterm elections, and it looks like we have got ourselves a horse race! That's right, folks, once again, it's time to start playing with those forecast maps on Real Clear Politics and FiveThirtyEight, and obsessively following the fluctuating poll numbers of congressional candidates you have never heard of competing in districts you couldn't locate if someone held a gun to your head. You need to start doing this immediately, if not sooner, as the stakes in these midterms could not be higher. Nothing less than the continued existence of "American democracy" hangs in the balance, so the ruling classes need every last one of us to get out there and vote for somebody! The fact that it only marginally matters who that somebody that you vote for is should not dissuade you from voting for somebody. Voting for somebody is your civic duty, and is no less important than rooting for a sports team, or maintaining a personal favorite color, or celebrity, or brand of hemorrhoid creme. Remember, if you don't vote for somebody, somebody else is going to win, and we can't afford to let that happen!

Neoliberal policy was always mad. But an even greater madness now appears with rightwing populism. Politics ismad because it writes off large parts of the population. Economic Darwinism has nested and established itself as market ideology in the brains of people. Politics assumes the strong deserve the largest part of the cake in its glorification of the performance principle. The market should conform to democracy; democracy should not be market-coforming.

In a recent Financial Times ![]() Summers and his wife took two weeks to drive on two-lane roads across prairies and mountains, from Dubuque to Cody to Bozeman and beyond, "marveling at how much of this vast country is uninhabited." They were sometimes far from any gas stations and even farther from phone chargers. Occasionally they had no mobile phone service at all! Okay, so not exactly a Jack Kerouac odyssey, but well outside the Summers Comfort Zones of Cambridge, the Vineyard, Georgetown, Manhattan, et al. Braving flyover country, separated from his usual tribe of "business leaders and cosmopolitan elites who are more worried about the concerns of their conference mates in Davos than those of their fellow citizens," Summers marveled that local people in bars and restaurants where he stopped did not seem concerned with the ongoing saga of Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation process. And Summers noted with some puzzlement that "People in most of the places we visited have tended to vote Republican in recent decades."
Sharing the same name and a comparable role, the city's elitist manual of manners and opinion, The New Yorker, recently published a breathless new report on election media that attributes Russian trolls with the "decisive" content in the world-historical fiasco of Trump's election. The billion dollars flung into the mediasphere by actual candidates is shoved aside, fodder for this year's midterm strategists but of little consequence in 2016. The report is a feverish campaign to keep the fragile egotism of Democratic elites on life-support, to rejuvenate a party that cannot bear to face that its own sellout to corporate donors has wrecked it. This is but one of dozens of reports fastidiously produced by incalculable hordes of liberal resisters scurrying along the horizon of the web like wildebeest in flight. Subverting elections, the magazine wisely intones, "doesn't require tampering with voting machines."
Here the bar is lowered. From a multi-layered high-tech hacking job to a simple "influence campaign," the criterion for blaming Russia continues to slide toward absurdity. "Russian masterminds" are parenthetically mentioned but never named. At least until our lantern-jawed paladin, Robert Mueller, swaggers into the press room to gravely announce the indictment of a sundry list of Russians currently residing in distant Russian climes and never likely to see the inside of an American court. These faceless trolls are said to have waged "information warfare against the United States of America" (the name of our nation doubtless spelled out in full to underscore the gravity of the event). U.S. intelligence weighs in with "high confidence" on hacking allegations. We would have to take their word for it, though the servers in question were never examined and later evidence revealed it was a leak, not a hack. Yet this grave declaration issued from behind the beveled door of the National Director of Intelligence is sufficient for hyperventilating liberals to embrace.
My thesis is that more and more people are awakening to the understanding that 'law and order' is antithetical in a society where government makes policy, because when government makes policy this immediately puts the responsibility for the creation of laws into the hands of someone else. "Policy" means that people elect representatives who serve their interests and represent the interests of the public on behalf of people who work, live, and are otherwise too busy to serve in public office. The fact of the matter is that today, this ethos runs so incredibly thin that nobody can say that the government serves the interest of the public with a serious face, without a snicker, a cynical smirk, a derisive laugh.
Policing on the other hand comes into play as the direct manifestation of the enforcement of 'the law' - that is, the police show up on the scene when a crisis occurs - be it an existential crisis (someone's life is in jeopardy); or a legal crisis (some kind of illegal behavior is occurring that threatens the function of the community, someone is robbing a bank and this threatens everyone's savings in the community, that sort of thing); however, there are any number of ways that these policing behaviors take a 'normative' effect - that is, the police busting up a bank robbery gives a normative understanding that robbing a bank is wrong. However, the state is the one who decides that definition of right and wrong.
Speaking of new words I just invented a new one, sort of, but not quite. Something not all that big and global -- allow me to explain. Have you ever heard of the "doggiebag?"
The United States in 1789 led the world in democracy. Now the first has become the last among those claiming to be democracies.

While Robert Mueller is under no deadline to complete his work, several sources tracking the investigation say the special counsel and his team appear eager to wrap up. | Win McNamee/Getty Images --- Mueller Investigation Mueller report PSA: Prepare for disappointment And be forewarned that the special counsel's findings may never be made public. By DARREN SAMUELSOHN 10/19/2018 05:20 AM EDT President Donald Trump's critics have spent the past 17 months anticipating what some expect will be among the most thrilling events of their lives: special counsel Robert Mueller's final report on Russian 2016 election interference. They may be in for a disappointment. That's the word POLITICO got from defense lawyers working on the Russia probe and more than 15 former government officials with investigation experience spanning Watergate to the 2016 election case. The public, they say, shouldn't expect a comprehensive and presidency-wrecking account of Kremlin meddling and alleged obstruction of justice by Trump — not to mention an explanation of the myriad subplots that have bedeviled lawmakers, journalists and amateur Mueller sleuths.

The ruling classes love identity politics because they keep the working classes focused on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and so on, and not on the fact that they (i.e., the working classes) are, essentially, glorified indentured servants, who will spend the majority of their sentient existences laboring to benefit a ruling elite that would gladly butcher their entire families and sell their livers to hepatitic Saudi princes if they could get away with it. Dividing the working classes up into sub-groups according to race, ethnicity, and so on, and then pitting these sub-groups against each other, is extremely important to the ruling classes, who are, let's remember, a tiny minority of intelligent but physically vulnerable parasites controlling the lives of the vast majority of human beings on the planet Earth, primarily by keeping them ignorant and confused.
The fake Left loves identity politics because they allow them to pretend to be "revolutionary" and spout all manner of "militant" gibberish while posing absolutely zero threat to the ruling classes they claim to be fighting. Publishing fake Left "samizdats" (your donations to which are tax-deductible), sanctimoniously denouncing racism on Twitter, milking whatever identity politics scandal is making headlines that day, and otherwise sounding like a slightly edgier version of National Public Radio, are all popular elements of the fake Left repertoire. There is no essential difference between your identity politics-brainwashed liberal and your Swastika-tattooed white supremacist. Both are looking at the world through the lens of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or some other type of "identity."

One article of faith among liberals and the corporate media is that Trump's presidency stands alone as a house or horrors, unprecedented in its fascistic authoritarianism, crazy pronouncements, and ideological blend of xenophobia, racism, sexism, and sheer extremism. Those in the "resistance" know that pretty much any alternative (Bill Maher, LeBron James) would be far better, though specifics — beyond Trump's mortal sin of partnering with Putin — are rarely mentioned.
Obvious comparisons are Trump's predecessor, Barack Obama, and his competitor, Hillary Clinton. Obama was in charge of U.S. foreign policy for the preceding eight years, so his legacy (with plenty of help from Clinton) might be worth considering. Obama, it turns out, was among the most militaristic White House occupants in American history, taking the imperial presidency to new heights. It has been said that Obama was the only president whose administration was enmeshed in multiple wars from beginning to end. His imperial ventures spanned many countries - Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia along with proxy interventions in Yemen and Pakistan. He ordered nearly 100,000 bombs and missiles delivered against defenseless targets, a total greater than that of the more widely-recognized warmonger George W. Bush's total of 70,000 against five countries. Iraq alone - where U.S. forces were supposed to have been withdrawn - was recipient of 41,000 bombs and missiles along with untold amounts of smaller ordnance. Meanwhile, throughout his presidency Obama conducted hundreds of drone attacks in the Middle East, more than doubling Bush's total, all run jointly (and covertly) by the CIA and Air Force.
