Razor-wire for Yogi & Boo Boo (&you & me too)...........
Capitalism is not running so well. Is this because people are judged wrongly with misguided models\? Don't competition and cooperation strengthen each other\? Why is the SF-condo model praised to the skies and the Vancouver B.C.-community center model ignored and scorned as unrealistic\? Is democracy supplanted by plutocracy\? Has resignation replaced passion\? Public spirit returns with counter-measures, local initiatives, re-balancing and affordable housing.
When Iran recently cancelled a reactor manufacturing contract with Russia over a sexualised assault by a senior engineer dispatched to the country, it resonated heavily within the mortgage-burdened industry´s rumour mill. As the employee was escorted into an air plane from the republic, it was speculated that funds collected for the purchase of a reactor fleet were to be diverted to the flight sector. But that was largely a distraction, says the South African university teacher, since the senior engineer who fingered the burqa of a senior health worker had been in the business for decades and already participated in the construction of the failed Chernobyl reactors. Gewindeberg now says in short, since replacing the Triple Alliance with the Security Council lead to a breakthrough in Tehran, it is well advised to try the same in Ukraine, but even better not to rely upon it because it remains helpless on Three Mile Island.
Their signal is too strong. Our message is not getting through.

The cultural and economic impact and the ISDS are analyzed. Philip Morris is suing Australia and Uruguay for lost profits. Public interest regulations are threatened by a parallel private arbitration system ruling in secret and irrevocable.
This looks very, very bad. Would they try it?
Contemporary capitalism has a big problem. And no one seems to be able to refute it.
The problem, as Robert J. Gordon sees it, is that economic growth is slowing down, it has been for decades, and there's no prospect for a resumption of fast economic growth in the foreseeable future. After fifty (from 1920 to 1970) years of relatively fast growth, and a single decade (the 1950s) of spectacular growth, the prospects for continued growth seem to have dimmed after 1970.

Bernie Sanders is the candidate of young voters and sparks a movement in the social media. Sanders is the man of the people and Clinton is the woman of big money. In the US, politicians who change their positions all the time are called "flip-floppers."Clinton compares Putin with Hitler. Sanders urges a diplomatic solutions of problems. Who is the radical\?
The US House of Representatives held its second hearing on Puerto Rico's debt crisis this year. The hearing focused on potential legislative solutions including bankruptcy protection and an economic oversight board.

![]() [From that article, QUOTE:] "Bernie's idea of political revolution starts with the American people getting out to vote in record numbers..." Tonight after the Iowa Caucus results came in with quite a close race between him and Democrat Party candidate Hillary Clinton, Sanders further advanced the "voter turnout / participation of millions" notion, for and about his campaign. Sanders tonight, QUOTE: "Tonight's result is a victory for our political revolution. We have proved that when people come together, anything is possible. New Hampshire votes next, where we have a slight lead in the polls. If we win there, we'll have all the momentum. What counts now is how we respond in this moment." ( FWIW personally I put virtually zero stock in what politician Sanders has to offer, but his rhetoric here is marginally intriguing for a Corporate-One-Party candidate. ) Excerpt of Bernie Sanders' post-caucus speech below.
Two key ingredients have been essential for achieving positive results. Firstly, it is necessary to have a partner in government willing to listen and invest in housing. But equally important, activism at a local level is needed to mobilize knowledge and initiative to propose and develop project to meet the needs of residents. Now, with a potential partner at the federal level, the possibility for progress exists,
This lays it all out for all time. A MUST SEE!!!!
The tough logic of capitalism prevails even at the heart of the sharing economy. As nice as it may be to share, no one gives away anything for free.
Why is the neoliberal system of domination so stable? Why is there so little resistance to it? Why does the resistance that does occur so quickly come to naught? Why, despite the ever-expanding divide between rich and poor, is revolution no longer possible? To explain this state of affairs, we need a precise understanding of how power and domination function today. In disciplinary and industrial society, system-preserving power was repressive. Factory workers were brutally exploited by factory owners. Such violent exploitation of others' labor entailed acts of protest and resistance. There, it was possible for a revolution to topple the standing relations of production. In that system of repression, both the oppressors and the oppressed were visible. There was a concrete opponent — a visible enemy — and one could offer resistance. The neoliberal system of domination has a wholly different structure. Now, system-preserving power no longer works through repression, but through seduction — that is, it leads us astray. It is no longer visible, as was the case under the regime of discipline. Now, there is no longer a concrete opponent, no enemy suppressing freedom that one might resist. Neoliberalism turns the oppressed worker into a free contractor, an entrepreneur of the self. Today, everyone is a self-exploiting worker in their own enterprise. Every individual is master and slave in one. This also means that class struggle has become an internal struggle with oneself. Today, anyone who fails to succeed blames themselves and feels ashamed. People see themselves, not society, as the problem.

The TPP marks another step towards greater regional cooperation and integration. The U.S.-driven trade deal changes how member countries manage their economies and businesses. It sets the rules for a new global economic order, which would further erode national sovereignty. The TPP together with the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership are part of plans to merge North America with Asia and Europe.
Bernie believes there has been a corporate takeover of American democracy, and this is where he returns to the idea of political revolution. In nearly every speech he makes this clarion call, and he is always unequivocal about the fact that neither he nor any other politician can make the necessary changes alone. Bernie's idea of political revolution starts with the American people getting out to vote in record numbers...

Trying to survive in the machine-world of Mordor-Amerikkka
![]() In the words of Trenton Tye (aka The Blacksmith), why don't these dumb things die? "The truth is, before 9/11 [collapse of WTC towers in New York City], the term global collapse didn't even exist. Buildings survived fires, plane crashes, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, botched demolitions and even nuclear explosions. Never, before or after 9/11, have we seen such catastrophic failures." Jet fuel fires reach temperatures of around 1,500°F only under optimal conditions. In open air conditions like the WTC buildings, they burn at around 600°F. Even according to the government agency that investigated the disaster, there is no evidence that any of the steel was heated to the point where it would lose its strength. There have been literally hundreds of hotter, larger, longer-lasting fires in steel-frame high-rises over the last century, and never has one caused the total collapse of a building. Tye's simplistic logic implies that many of these infernos should have led to a total collapse. Of course, none has — and that also goes for the three steel-frame high-rises that were destroyed on 9/11.
Humankind has abolished slavery, absolute monarchy, cannibalism and, in principle, child labor. To solve, or at least reduce, the mounting refugee problem, we should begin to discuss how to increase human civilization by criminalizing arms trade and by abolishing war - as stated in the UN Charter Preamble. But there are taboos on such common sense ideas in all the countries which consider themselves civilised compared with the morally weak and uncivilized countriesthey destroy
This TPP Trade "Agreement" (TREATY) allows international corporations to sue any government that attempts to protect its citizens from their misdeeds.
In "corporate courts" even. Nice huh?
Whether inequality harms or benefits was disputed for a long while. It could motivate individuals to more effort and stimulate growth, one side believed. It takes the chances for education and development from those who are poore4r, the other said. Perhaps the truth in the theory lies somewhere in between. Then inequality would be motivating as long as the diffe4rence was not insurmountably great... Money buys power.

It's fine and great that Portland Indymedia specializes in genuine grass-roots reporting. But times have changed drastically since Indymedia began. Almost the only true U.S. Indymedia sites (in the real sense) are Portland Indymena and San Francisco's Indybay.org.
However, just reporting local news seems to be a limited agenda. Just as much, we now need social justice protagonist fresh thought inquiry. Having the grass-roots social justice reports is extremely important. But this is of limited value if we neglect to continue to sharpen our ability to understand them from fresh perspectives.

A 16-year Portland police veteran was allowed to quietly resign last year after he met a woman on a police call, had sex with her on and off duty and then lied about his behavior.
The officer was found to have lied to emergency dispatchers about his whereabouts, claiming he was taking a statement when he actually had driven to the woman's hotel room for sex in 2014, according to bureau reports made public for the first time. George R. Holloway Jr., 54, resigned Jan. 6, 2015, according to bureau and state records, months before a police review panel unanimously recommended that he be fired. The Police Review Board, made up of community representatives and police, also recommended that a "Do Not Rehire'' warning go into the officer's personnel file.

Native Americans have been fighting for their spiritual traditions for decades against New Age cultural appropriation and commercial exploitaton. NAFPS and Al Carroll have been at the forefront, and for that, white racists have always hated them, slandered them, and demonized them. The good news is, the racists have always failed.
In this excerpt, the teenage Rosa Luxemburg teaches her family about Marx's Das Kapital, explaining material and social relations and the problem of money.
This practice is fair in theory; workers deserve protections from capricious management, and especially from cowardly politicians. But when a police officer brings dishonor to himself, to his colleagues, to the bureau and is the cause of mistrust between officers and basically everyone else in town - he needs to go.
