Time to Decide
"Nature and people are `fictional commodities'. When they submit completely to market mechanisms and when markets are not regulated, this leads to people dying who don't find buyers for their labor power. The foundations for the production of goods are themselves treated as commodities and destroyed. Stock markets decide the fate of whole countries and dictate social policy."

Who Really Benefited from 9/11?
Forget so-called conspiracy theories. Instead look at reality. Dare ask yourselves who actually seems to have benefited from the 9-11 calamity. In light of the debt ceiling debates and continuous politics as usual of Washington D.C., it is time for the American people and individual states of this federation to look at a troubling set of facts. There seems to have been "several" beneficiaries of 9-11 that don't exactly fit the story line we were constantly fed by the propaganda machine and mainstream media as to how to connect the dots (which we were rhetorically asked to do).

Dear friends,

Today marks the 6th year of Eric's arrest and incarceration. I'm not
quite sure why I always feel compelled to commemorate this day - the
memories it awakens bring so much pain, anger and frustration. It is not
something I really want to remember. It is also something I can never
forget. That day forever altered the course of Eric's life - and the
lives of all his loved ones.

Theory and Practice in Occupy
For a movement that started with one strategy and a couple of slogans, Occupy has preformed brilliantly. Having based itself on the examples of Egypt and Wisconsin, the Occupy Movement has raised the political consciousness of millions and created a large layer of new activists. But the uninterrupted string of successes of Egypt and Tunisia haven't materialized for Occupy. We're in a lull period. Next steps are being considered and some tactics are being re-thought.

Hay Bales are not Habitat! Comments on Wild Bison "management" plan due Friday January 13
Comment on Montana's Proposed Management Changes for Wild Bison in the Gardiner Basin

Comments Due by January 13, 2012

The state of Montana is accepting public comments on their Draft Joint Environmental Assessment Adaptive Management Adjustments to the Interagency Bison Management Plan. Sound like a bureaucratic mouthful? It is a proposal to intensify livestock-model management of the last continuously wild population of American buffalo, within the Gardiner Basin, north of Yellowstone National Park. Montana's plans are being touted to the public as a step towards more tolerance and habitat for wild buffalo in Montana, however, BFC's initial review of the draft Environmental Assessment reveals that mismanagement techniques - including capture, confinement, dangerous vaccination, artificial feeding, test-and-slaughter, quarantine, scientific research and increased hunting - would be profoundly escalated.

LEGALIZE BARED FEET - THEY ARE HOLY! OCCUPY COTTAGE GROVE LIBRARY
Bare foot entry barred in the Cottage Grove public library. why is this, and so many other places? It seems nothing more than a prejudice, or fear of a liability. The bare foot is typically cleaner than a shoe; for a lot of people this is a serious health and comfort issue. We have been stonewalled and threatened with police action. If it was legal to be barefoot everywhere probably many more would join our ranks. Our action is in January because that's when the issue came up, unfortunately, so hopefully it will be warm!

GREEN GUERRILLAS
Eco-terrorism isn't new. It is, however, typically ineffective. This report points to another potential scenario. If eco-activists adopt global guerrilla tactics, they could coerce a rapid move to clean energy alternatives. Small but extremely effective (high ROI) attacks on the energy corridors leading to target regions, would quickly increase the costs of conventional energy such that clean power alternatives would become extremely attractive.

The Working Class Begins to Fight Back
After decades of losing ground and feeling helpless, working people are beginning to fight back. This development has emerged in part because the Occupy Wall Street movement has thrown a national spotlight on the growing inequalities in wealth and the mainstream politicians who have enabled this trend to continue for decades. The Occupy Wall Street movement drew the obvious conclusion: meaningful change will happen, not by endless waiting for the politicians to act, but by working people relying on themselves and acting collectively.

ShadowHawk: Robot Helicopter Comes to a Local Pee Dee Near You
The ShadowHawk is a remote controlled mini-helicopter that can record footage (nighttime/IR/thermal too) and point lasers as easily as it can shoot a stun baton or launch 40mm grenades.

On October 28th, 2011 the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) Texas, received a MK-II ShadowHawk Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) from Vanguard Defense Industries. The UAS is intended to assist the County in a number of critical operations to include emergency management, search & rescue, and SWAT operations. In addition to representing a significant cost savings effort over a full sized aircraft, the department can deploy the system quickly via a police SUV. The ShadowHawk was purchased utilizing Department of Homeland Security Grant funding and included training of several deputies already on staff with the MCSO.

Smart Meter Replacement Program In California Has Begun
Our genetic heritage is being damaged into perpetuity by unregulated technology California, always ahead in matters of sense and sensibility, has begun replacing "smart" meters due to the many health related complaints that have been coming in to PGE. Smart meters, like the ones we have in Portland, emit constant bursts of high frequency pulsed microwave radiation at 487 times the FCC limit. How do they get away with this?? Nobody in Oregon seems to care enough to scream at the PUC for installing this dangerous life threatening technology. Smart meters are about surveillance and graft and racketeering. The money made (and paid) for these is in the billions.

City police policy in Harrisburg PA on lost dogs: Kill it, Adopt it, or Dump it
It's a bad time to be a dog in the city of Harrisburg PA.

Slip the leash, get lost or — worse — abandoned, and a dog faces summary execution or extraordinary rendition to some remote corner of Dauphin County.

People of Harrisburg should beware.

"Keep your dogs inside — don't risk them getting lost, If it gets lost, you're going to find out real quickly how bad this is."

According to an internal police department memo, officers have three options when responding to a dog complaint: Kill it, adopt it or dump it.

Pat Wadsworth learned firsthand on New Year's Eve.
