A New Hope Israel could blow the ships up with out any difficulty. Likely it will seize and transfer the aid as it see fit. There is many sources to this story. One angle comes from al-Jazeera; but is filtered by AP and reported out on yahoo. Another from the BBC is slightly more explanatory. The pro-flotilla comes from indy Israel and many other sources. The European and U.S. Economies: Falling Dominoes
Attempting to fix an unfixable problem can create new problems. Why is the global economy unfixable in the current context? For one, the cause of the depression is never mentioned in the mainstream media or politicians. And when a disease is misdiagnosed, a prescribed medication creates new afflictions.

Massive, bad debt is often cited as the cause of the global depression, but why this debt existed in the first place is never discussed. Quite simply, the debt was needed to buy the products of corporations that wages once consumed. Over time, corporations drove down wages to out-compete each other while driving up profits, creating the global "demand" for credit, which the banks are now demanding be paid back.

Massive Oil Spill solution already exists
There's a potential solution to the Gulf oil spill that neither BP, nor the federal government, nor anyone save a couple intuitive engineers seems willing to try. As The Politics Blog reported on Tuesday in an interview with former Shell Oil president John Hofmeister, the untapped solution involves using empty supertankers to suck the spill off the surface, treat and discharge the contaminated water, and either salvage or destroy the slick.

More Sea Lions to Die for Eating Fewer than Five Fish
The government just added six more sea lions to the list of those who will be targeted to be killed on the Columbia river. These, you will remember, are the "worst offenders" who are "eating the most salmon" at Bonneville dam. (This is what the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife told us repeatedly, right? That only the "worst offenders" would be killed. It's what the Army Corps of Engineers repeatedly assured us: That only those sea lions "eating the most salmon" would be targeted with death.)

The problem is, half the animals on this list have been added for the crime of eating fewer than 5 fish. In fact, they join a long list of animals who are on the kill list for eating 10 or fewer salmon. (See  http://sealiondefensebrigade.org/ for the current full kill list.)

Alberta Co-op Grocery: Toward Democracy?
Shady things have been going on behind the scenes at ACG. Most workers support a move toward a democratic management structure but members of the board and managers are stonewalling discussion. This has gotten ugly: retaliatory firings(2), the cops being called on a former worker just for being in the store and a 2 year moratorium on even discussing the 12 page, 3 years in the making, collective management proposal. Members for a Democratic Co-op (MDC), a group working to bring this issue to light, is in the process of gathering member signatures to force discussion.
