Every Dishwasher Will Not Become a Millionaire
Citizens in the US are tyrannized by "dead ideas," Matt Miller insists. One dead idea is that taxes damage the economy. With taxes, long-term advantages can be created for the economy when the government invests in the infrastructure. The economic elite should focus on the prosperity of the US, not its own profit.

By Earth Warriors are OK! (EWOK!)

Federal court hearing scheduled Monday for Scott DeMuth charged under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act

Feldman Still in custody for refusal to cooperate with the federal grand jury

Davenport, IA -- Using sensational and inflammatory language, the federal government accused recently indicted activist Scott DeMuth on Wednesday of being a "domestic terrorist" in an effort to keep him imprisoned until trial. DeMuth, a Dakota activist from Minneapolis who has worked for many years to support political prisoners, was indicted November 18th for conspiracy to "commit animal enterprise terrorism"...

building a "failed state": Trimet shows how
Our public agencies and officials are hard at work building a "failed state." I would define a "failed state" as one that does not meet the minimum requirements for attaining a measure of public legitimacy based on serving broad social needs. Such a state can only maintain authority through brute force. A state will "fail" once it stops serving the needs of a critical mass of its citizens. The term has been coopted by US militarists as a pretext to justify unlawful and violent interference in the affairs of foreign states, but it remains a useful concept in spite of this taint.

Why Obama's Surge in Afghanistan?
Tuesday's announcement that President Obama will send an additional 30,000 soldiers to Afghanistan — while begging his foreign allies to send an extra 10,000 — will have dramatic effects throughout the American and world society.

The hope that Obama's election would drastically change U.S. foreign policy has been destroyed. The effects of his troop surge will change the minds of millions of Americans, who, until this point, were giving Obama the benefit of the doubt.

Such moments in history are capable of instantly removing piles of dust from the collective eyeball — just as the bank bailouts did.

Previous to Peabody Coal's profitable interest in mining Big Mountain there was intermarriage and peace between the Hopis and Dineh.

Danes caught fiddling their carbon credits.
2. Danes caught fiddling their carbon credits. (Hat tip: Philip Stott) Carbon trading is the Emperor's New Clothes of international finance. It was invented by none other than Ken Lay, whose Enron would currently be one of the prime beneficiaries in the global alternative energy market, if it hadn't been shown to be (nearly) as fraudulent as the current AGW scam. It is a licence to fleece, cheat and rob. Still, jolly embarrassing for the Danes to get caught red handed, what with their hosting a conference shortly in which the world's leaders will try, straight-faced, to persuade us that carbon emissions trading is the only viable way of defeating ManBearPig. KEN LAY? ENRON? GREEN AGENDA???

These stories stem from the events that happened at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in St. Paul, Minnesota. Although these actions took place in the summer of 2008, the repercussions and trials continue. The outcome of the State versus the People of Minnesota is not yet known. The battles fought between independent journalists and police were the catalyst of what it means to be a citizen journalist in America and how mainstream media portrays your message. What happened here and the outcome of the trials are of the utmost social importance.
