Salmon Snatching Fisherman Admits: Killing Sea Lions is About Money, Not "Saving" Salmon
Photo of Salmon Snatcher from SLDB website In a rare fit of honesty, a fisherman commenting on the Sea Lion Defense Brigade website has perfectly illustrated why our state is out spending more than a million of our tax dollars to execute sea lions on the Columbia river: It's not about "saving salmon," as the PR spin doctors have suggested. It's about appeasing noisy fishermen who do not want to recover salmon, they simply want to kill more of them.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom rides the big wave
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom now aspires to succeed Arnold Schwarzenegger as California's Governor Greenwash II. Newsom recently came out for mega wave energy, meaning Pacific Gas'n Electric wave energy, which is adamantly opposed by environmental activists on California's North Coast, in Mendocino and Humboldt Counties. Newsom is virtually joined at the hip with PG&E, so he will most certainly be a lobbyist, as well, for LNG Terminals and pipeline in the rural state of Oregon, to bring natural gas to Northern California's huge natural gas market. The natural gas pipeline proposed to run through Oregon wilderness, from LNG Terminals in Oregon, is a joint project of PG&E and several other very related big energy corporations.

For the Resumption of the Class Struggle!
The economic crisis which has crashed down on society has already had and for a long time will have disastrous consequences for the lives of the masses, as every worker can see in his daily life or her work. The bourgeois economists themselves admit it: they do not know what the causes of the crisis are - satisfying themselves by blaming the greed of the bankers or excessive financial deregulation - and they do not know when it will end and give way to the long-awaited "economic recovery". The current crisis is the crisis of the capitalist mode of production, incapable of stopping itself, forced to produce always more commodities, at a certain point it comes up against the limits of the market.

Obama and the Crisis of the U.S. Auto Industry
Making sense of the recent developments in the automobile industry is a difficult process. If you look to the media or the government for answers, you'll receive a long-winded description of behind-the-scenes deals between Obama and his advisers, their Wall Street friends (the bond holders — big banks and hedge funds), and lastly the United Auto Workers (U.A.W.).

It seems odd hearing the U.S. President combing over the business details of Chrysler: whether or not a merger with the Italian automaker Fiat will happen; whether or not the banks and hedge funds will be willing to relinquish enough of Chrysler's debt; and whether or not labor will make major concessions.

To grasp this odd dynamic one must first understand the motive to "restructure" Chrysler. According to the Obama administration, because Chrysler has produced more cars than people are currently able to afford as a result of the recession, the company has to be turned "inside out."

A man's nature is always to seek out what is good. If a man is put in power that has no moral fiber, that man will use his position to accommodate his personal needs, rather than the needs of the people of whom he is sworn to serve. Remember, that not only is 'man by nature is a political animal', but Free Will unchecked is inherently evil.

This was a panel of four, with moderator, and a few guest speakers. There is a Q. n A. in the latter part of this 2:00 hour video. This was educational to me in that the violations and lack of respect for civil rights was very poignant as I listened to these various speakers. I heard logical questions raised about the separation of church and state and the rights and the abuse of civil (and human) rights and equality. There are serious concerns in these issues and this Symposium helps clarify some of the injustices and the need for correction and more understanding.
