Ask An Anarchist
Hi there!

I'm writing on behalf of a recently created blog called Ask An Anarchist (AAA). AAA is composed of three anarchists of varying backgrounds who seek to answer any questions on Anarchism or anarchists themselves which come their way. Basically, we seek to put away our black masks and hoodies (for the moment) and demystify our sometimes secret and always revolutionary movement.

US domestic army act to passes in Senate
Following the news that the UK government wants to train 60 000 people to be able to carry out tasks such as "picking extremists out of a crowd", the US Senate is in the final stages of passing new legislation which could involve as many as 7 million people in a mandatory domestic army.
The act contains an amendment which will, at its passing, make it illegal to protest against it.

It’s Time to Grow Again! Let Hemp Loose.-Production buried by past needed to strengthen US
"Hemp is anti-microbial and highly resistant to insects. It NEVER requires the use of herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Hemp, unlike cotton, does not deplete the soil of nutrients. This makes it cheaper to produce, eliminates groundwater pollution due to pesticide run-off, and curtails farming community exposure to toxic and cancer-causing products.
Growing hemp reduces our dependence on petroleum products such as petrochemical fertilizers. Currently 15,000 lakes in the US are so contaminated by toxic agricultural runoff that NOTHING can live in them.
Hemp paper requires less chemical processing and can be whitened without producing dioxins. Unlike wood pulp paper, hemp does not harden, yellow, or crack with age. "......Boulder Hemp Initiative Project

The New World Order's ObamaNation
Kool Aid to Wall Street Matt Taibbi has written an important article in this month's Rolling Stone magazine. In it he explains to the reader, in layman's terms, just what happened, how it happened, and who benefited from the massive taxpayer bailouts of Wall Street's biggest firms. But, most importantly, he hits the nail on the head by saying that the Republic is officially dead (and we do hear the dirge) -- there is no more pretense that we live in a democracy under the rule of law, because now the lawless ones have "officially" taken over the apparatus of the state and given us the finger in the process. Yes, as Taibbi's says: "We are royally fucked." Congress is now a collection of rubber stampers, and the people -- Wall Street slaves.

Protest (American, definitely not a verb): Wait for UFPJ or ANSWER to stage a parade (I mean, demonstration) on a weekend afternoon so no one misses work or school or in any way disrupts the flow of commerce. Don't make a sign; the organizers will make one for you. March in an orderly fashion, be polite to the occupying army (I mean, cops), and be sure to stay in designated free speech zones. Blame the Republicans. Wear costumes. Make puppets. Exclude anarchists. Hold a candlelight vigil. Sign a petition. Chant. Vote for a Democrat and hope for change. Need I continue?

Need your help monitoring sea lions
sea lions in Astoria last week Have a little free time during the week and want to spend it on the Columbia river? Sea Lion Defense Brigade are seeking volunteers to record any hazing, trapping, or killing of sea lions on the river. Any video recorded could go to protecting these creatures, if you're interested, this would be the time to help.

Sea Lion Defense Brigade is looking for people to monitor the government trapping sites intended to trap, relocate a few, and kill dozens of sea lions. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and the Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) do not want people to witness or record these events.

The situation currently:

Fishermen and government employees are violently hazing the sea lions at the Bonneville Dam (40 miles east of Portland on I84) everyday. Two traps are set up by the dam and are visible from the Washington side of the Columbia River. Two California sea lions have already been put to death by lethal injection and another 83 are on the list of execution. Another trapping and branding site is in Astoria, OR.

What is Behind the AIG Scandal
The controversy surrounding the American International Group (AIG) is one for the ages, for it starkly reveals who is really running our economic system and to what end.

In an effort to please two irreconcilable groups — the vast majority, average working Americans, versus the few financial elite — Obama has lately resembled a tightrope walker on a tattered rope. The AIG debate has now unsettled this delicate balance; no longer will it be so easy to give billions to Wall Street while fake rage is hurled against this same group.

The jig is up.

Why the double standard? He is the Change don't you get it? George Bush ran in Texas as the Change candidate, there wasn't much disappointment in him. Hillary ran as a change candidate, I don't think she's let anyone down. Why good ole Barack? I suppose you think Ronald Reagan as senile as he was made decisions? You must think George Bush, Mr. C average put the US into Iraq? If you think that you must think Jimmy Carter held the fate of the United States in his very thought processes? So of course now you think Obama determines the fate of US now? Have you considered the people who explain policy are not usually the people who make it? Have U considered Kofi Annan was the president of the UN? How much power did old Kofi have, what about Mr. Moon now? TO CALL THINGS BY THERE RIGHT NAME!

Gastro-Terrorism: The Green Peril
(also posted at the Free Speech Zone Blog)

According to some sources, some of which are rather politically "conservative," a new "struggle" against this Green Peril is being waged in both Congress, and by President Obama. It seems at least conceivable that this nascent legislation could bring $1 million fines per day to family farmers, or even to people with home gardens (unless they can afford $10,000 dollar inspections, etc.). Now there is an idea who's time has come!

(This could all be about a corporate media Clintonization of Obama and the Dems, however.)
