I hope this pamhlet can be a part of correcting this and bringing down the religion of non violence.

Mark Vorpahl SEIU local 49 05.06.2008 12:47
Which Way Forward for SEIU?
As it approaches its National Convention in June of 2008, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is the largest union in the U.S., with a reported membership of 1.9 million. It largely organizes home care, health care, home child care, and janitorial workers. While most unions' growth has stagnated or declined over the last few years, SEIU has reported organizing 900,000 new members into its ranks since 1996, making it quite possibly the fastest growing union in the world

A long-simmering debate has broken into the open with the resignation of Sal Rosselli from SEIU's Executive Board, President of United Healthcare Workers (UHW) - West, which is SEIU's single biggest local in California, with 150,000 members. In an interview on Democracy Now, Rosselli said of the differences between himself and SEIU International President Andy Stern: "...the easiest way I can describe it is a bottom-up versus top-down, empowering workers to be in control of their lives, in control of their relationship with their employer versus centralizing control and power among a few in Washington D.C. to control the resources and decision-making authority relationship with these employers." In the same interview, Rosselli commented on Stern's approach,:"There's a - we're going in the direction of growth at all cost. We've lost the needed balance to raise standards of workers with the growth.

Foie Gras: Blue Hour’s Unhappy Hour; Entitlement Issues?
Foie Gras Makes Me Sick Patrons of the upscale, or as I call it, "bougie" Blue Hour restaurant were disgruntled when dining by the truth about foie gras—okay, they were not happy when their overpriced dinners were being served to a background of chants such as "your money, your choice, ducks and geese have no voice!" and "that's not dinner, that's diseased liver!" Protesters standing on sidewalks holding signs and chanting irritated certain patrons who felt their corporate-given entitlement was ruined. Blue Hour restaurant currently sells the delicacy of despair even after several attempts of letter writing, video giving, pamphleting, discussion with owners and education put forth by animal rights advocates..

action alert from Mato Paha: Bear Butte, South Dakota
I am writing to you today to alert you to the escalating commercial desecration of land held sacred by nearly all the Plains American Indian Nations, Bear Butte. Blatant disregard for the spiritual beliefs and ceremonies of Native People and the sacredness of this mountain is evidenced by the increased presence of bars, clubs, strobe lights, campgrounds that sell alcohol and a proposed stadium. Bear Butte is a sacred mountain located eight miles east of Sturgis, South Dakota. It is registered as a National Historical Landmark. Bear Butte is sacred to the Plains Tribes who continue to travel to the mountain each summer to pray and hold their annual ceremonies. Instead of praying in peace, traditional people are forced to pray with loud music from bars, motorcycle noise, flashing strobe lights over the mountain, and intoxicated campers nearby.

Cascadia Loves Tre Arrow: Outpouring of Support in Court Today
This morning, Tre Arrow was scheduled to appear in Judge Redden's courtroom to plead guilty to two counts of arson in connection with the burning of some trucks that were engaged in the attempt to rip down one of the last remaining old growth forests in Cascadia. All of the other defendants in that case sold their souls and sold out their community years ago, in exchange for shorter sentences. Tre, on the other hand, did not cooperate against any other defendants. Instead, he was asked to trade a guilty plea for a greatly reduced sentence -- a deal offered by the government because they almost certainly did not have the evidence to prove their case. (But in this country of terror alerts and witch hunts, it would have been a gamble to assume that justice could have prevailed if the case had gone to trial.)

Voting on EU corporate fascist state: Will the Irish Save Democracy?
a review of what will transmogrify Europe into a de-localized, centralized state that has the power to even prorogue Parliaments and other Assemblies in its 'member' nations. Only the Irish have a referendum vote. The French voted 'non' on it, though then puppet Sarkozy, put in via vote fraud, pushed it through the French legislature against the French people's vote down on the issue! High criminal elites make for a very criminal EU state. The EU is a MAJOR piece of the future elite global surveillance transnational corporate de-democratized fascist state. This is a nice institutional summary of what the Irish are voting on that will decide something important to the world's future....After reading all these powers that the EU will take away from people and away from local democracy, how can anyone support the EU rationally? How can anyone think they are progressive or democratic while being EU supporters is beyond me...
