Wells Fargo tries to pass itself off as a neutral, respectable institution when in fact it is directly contributing to the continuous torture going on in that prison.

"The workers who have to sell themselves bit by bit are a commodity like every other commercial article." This quotation from the 1848 Communist Manifesto is an accurate description of the current system which is morally sick and lacks consensus.

By nearly all accounts the Food Not Bombs National Gathering that took place at the end of March was a smashing success: Activists of all types and ages from FNB chapters all over the country were brought together in Nashville, TN for a Critical Mass bike ride, no-pants dance party, a day of workshops, a group meeting, scavenger hunt, huge food sharing downtown and a march through the streets.

Meet Alan Schwartz, welfare recipient.
As the chief executive of Bear Stearns, he's getting rather more public assistance than your typical welfare mom - specifically, $30 billion in federal loan guarantees to help J.P. Morgan Chase take over his firm. But then, Schwartz has had rather more than his share of suffering of late.

This is some news I found on yahoo.com. along with some other links. I am not a Clinton fan, but have found myself continually frustrated with the number of queers and queer allies in my circles who have been absolutely ga-ga for Barack Obama. Of course, no one should be a one issue voter! However, while praising Obama, remember that he is not in full support of queer rights - in that, he has said he will defer to whatever each state's law is. So even when he says he is pro-same sex domestic partnership, without backing that up, that is of absolutely no use for say, a queer in homophobic Florida with not even the right to adopt!

"Smack Down 9-11: Globalist Agenda, Psychological Warfare and Ritual Slaughter at the World Trade Center"
I am posting Martin Luther King Jr's "Beyond Vietnam" speech for several reasons today. First it is the anniversary of King's assasination. But also I hope all of you read his speech and reflect on it on the relationship of Cascadia (the bioregion, the diverse human community, the diverse ecosystems in decline) to the American Empire. I would like you to reflect that currently in the American Empire the drop out rate of high schoolers in many states are 50%. I would like you to reflect about the consumer cost of ecosystems. Reflect on social unity and the divisions for "divide and conquest" that the American Imperials employ. Reflect on the growing democratic deficit. Reflect on the destruction of local economy that has been outsourced for a global Wal-mart economy. Reflect on a ethic that believe the destruction of the global climates is worth the corporate profit. Reflect on a culture of war profiteering and the plans to bring the tragedies of the Afghani and Iraqi occupations to nuclear devastated iran and anyone that stands in the way of the American Corporatists. Reflect on the structural violence in each and every community (Cascadia and other) that leaves veterans legless and homeless begging for money for alcohol (self medication). Reflect on the structural violence on a system that leaves children without a real education or medical coverage. Reflect on the structural violence on a system seduces its population of critical thinking and freedom for a 3 minute blurb on TV about Britany Spears or seduces us to put aside our "humanity" for a big screen TV. Reflect on the structural violence on a system that wants to privatize the Commons and give you chemically tainted water, genetically altered food and enslavement in the form of a short term loan to survive the lower and lower paycheck that you barely survive on in a petroleum addicted economy. As the band Rage Against he Machine shouts "Wake Up!"

Its been a three weeks since clearing officially began for the NAFTA
Superhighway, I-69. Trees have been felled in the first two miles (out of 142) of the route, and three out of the four homes (out of 400) which had already been seized by the Department of Transportation were demolished this week. Security is posted around the clearing sites, reflecting the state's fear of the wrath of local communities threatened by the road.
Al Gore suggested such tactics last summer. Around a hundred actions -- include about a dozen involving civil disobedience -- took place around the world. With the only a few years to turn our emissions around and the growing focus on civil disobedience, the movement to stop climate change appears is heating up.

The memos written by John Yoo destroyed the Constitution of the United States, which is just what Cheney and Bush wanted...
In the past several years there have been studies showing plants flowering as much as a month early, butterflies migrating weeks later than usual, changes in the timing and location of bird migrations, tropical frog extinctions, bears in Spain no longer hibernating because there is enough food to eat all winter, tree lines moving up mountainsides and up in latitude, the line of permafrost moving north, and others. But none of these are close enough or important enough to us, personally, to make us (Americans) concerned. These are all out on the fringe of our world and simply do not affect us.
The greatest risks threaten through the crisis of the financial system, through further price increases for food, the sensitivity of global supply routes and the increasingly expensive sources of energy. 2008 could develop into a worldwide crisis year.

Heavenly Starbucks is now open in heaven, and a talented team of local youngsters convene there secretly to plan and propagate a "Child to Child" movement to educate homeless children to help them get more productive & successful, all while the "Evil Eye" keeps trying to defeat their noble cause. Biological weapons delivered by cyborg insects. It sounds like a nightmare scenario straight out of the wilder realms of science fiction, but it could be a reality if a current Pentagon project comes to fruition. Right now, researchers are already growing insects with electronics inside them. They're creating cyborg moths and flying beetles that can be remotely controlled. One day, the US military may field squadrons of winged insect/machine hybrids with on-board audio, video or chemical sensors. These cyborg insects could conduct surveillance and reconnaissance missions on distant battlefields, in far-off caves, or maybe even in cities closer to home, and transmit detailed data back to their handlers at US military bases.
