Night Light - a book of our protests of Bush uploaded
front cover Over the past 5 years I have published many photo essays on Indymedia. Recently, from my long trip through Europe I published on the Durham miners gala in NE England, and a photo essay and 3 minute film called BERLIN 9-11. I may have more such essays soon for I hope to be moving this fall to the disputed border of Islam and the West. I just wove my Portland Indymedia photo essays into a printed book so that I would have something tangible with which to share our resistance to the Bush regime and the simple beauty of our city with my students overseas.

Report on the May Day demonstration in Tehran
There were around five to six thousand workers. It was Shiroodi sports stadium [near Tehran] which was packed with so many workers. The Labour House[1] used its own rotten old method for dispersing the workers. Like last year, it announced the venue of the gathering as being in one place and then held the ceremony in a different one! By the time everyone had realised where the main ceremony was being held, naturally a big number gave up on the way and went back.
Despite this, such a big number gathered in the stadium and the Labour House had the platform. It was interesting that the platform had been set up higher than the general level and to get to it you would need to do acrobatics. That, as well as the big number of Information [Ministry] officials, showed how much they feared a worker gaining access to the platform!

The angry unemployed workers interrupted the speakers and the voice of the crowd of workers below made Sadeghi and Mahjoob[2] twice as angry.

Opposite the main gate the united and strong voice of the workers drew everyone's attention. Who were the people, who on their own day were shouting with such rage and a loud voice "Free political prisoners" and "Free Mahmoud Salehi"?

With that debate in progress and unresolved we now witness BIOMETRIC ID 'softening' techniques by the 'public' broadcaster, 'our' ABC:

Gentrification and Real Estate Mania
Do not be fooled. Real Estate is the worst possible investment anyone can make. In its truest sense, Real Estate is not an investment, rather it is the purchase of a consumer item - a purchase which benefits everyone else involved except the buyer. No matter how you look at it Real Estate is about rental - not about ownership. Common sense understanding about title law should make this clear. When one "buys" Real Estate, they are paying the seller for a state granted "deed" in order to use the land for a specific purpose which is dictated by state and local zoning laws. Essentially, even if you pay cash for land, you are shifting the landlord from the bank directly to the state. Conversely, buying stocks does not require getting a "title" from the state. This difference is why stocks and bonds offer so much more liquidity than Real Estate. You cannot place a "stop loss" order on a Real Estate purchase.

The hypocrisy of John Edwards
On a campaign stop in Portland, Oregon last Wednesday, candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination John Edwards was introduced by Tom Chamberlain, head of the Oregon AFL-CIO, as "a blue collar president for a blue collar America." To whistles and applause, Edwards emerged in blue jeans and a blazer as loud rock music blared over loudspeakers.

One might imagine that a "blue collar," populist campaign would be a somewhat problematic endeavor for someone like John Edwards, a multimillionaire lawyer and consultant for a $30 billion hedge fund with a record of support for antidemocratic, militarist policies during his six years in the US Senate.

Nonetheless, this particular campaign speech in Portland, like many the former senator has delivered to meetings around the country in recent weeks, was littered with appeals to the nation's working poor: "I think it says something about our character, how we treat the needs of our own people who wake up every day just worried about surviving," Edwards intoned.

Sarkozy steals French Presidential Runoff election with American ES&S e-vote machines
The runoff demographics weren't there for his win. Only Sarkozy supports unverifiable e-vote machines for France which were widely utilized.

France, you better learn your lesson now: your government has just turned fascist. Get them out now. Get rid of and destroy fake vote machines. Remember that the fascist globalists are mad at France for saying 'non' to the fascist EU. They are going to attempt to take over your country to force you into the massively corrupt EU unelected government which is a government by diktat, without appeal, the way polices are set up.

"ES&S's I-Votronic machines were used in both elections across France. Only Sarkozy's party was supportive of the machines, with all the other political parties calling for a moratorium on their use. Turnout in the French election was 85 percent. With large turnouts historically favoring the left in France, the exit polling and actual polling were at odds with the turnout -- an indication of massive election fraud." --- "As with the U.S. and Mexican presidential elections, the polls are being artificially fixed to reflect the upcoming skewed exit polls, a major component of the neo-cons' main contrivance to maintain political control -- "election engineering." IPSOS, the Paris-based marketing firm that sits at the core of most reported French presidential election polls, including those of the Associated Press, owns some 40 market research and opinion companies around the world, including the United Kingdom's MORI. It has a vested interest in the election of the extreme pro-business Sarkozy.
