Asymmetry delivers Victory
From Sun tzu to today's flying LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) the fundamental decisive factors determining the outcome of war have never changed - though some 'superpowers' would have us all believe otherwise. The determining factors are and have always been, intelligence, skill, ingenuity and tactics - all other factors, including high technology, are secondary. The outcome of War is determined by and anchored in the warrior.

Estland, Talinn.

Talinn looks like a city in war: shops, buildings are burning. Everywhere people are beaten by police.
Yesterday night thousands of people rioted because the governemnt brought to fall "the sovjet soldier" - a monument in the middle of the city that honoured the anti-fascist soldiers of the sovjet army who freed Talinn from the nazis in WW II.

Call for Submissions: Zine on Property Destruction
Entering the radical community, many quickly find themselves constantly hearing about debate over property destruction. Is it violence? Does it matter if it's violence? Is it effective? Is it alienating? And on and on. I've been hearing this argument pretty much since I regularly started attending protests. At this point, I almost don't want to deal with the subject. Naturally, you're asking, "Then why the hell do you want to make a zine about it?"

What’s Really in the Flake-Gutierrez (STRIVE) Act?
Many traditional immigrant rights organizations are putting enormous pressure on grass roots groups to support the "Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy Act" (STRIVE). This proposal, put forward by Democrats Jeff Flake (AZ) and Luis Gutierrez (IL), is being presented as a "lesser evil" and "the best we can get". While on the surface it isn't as overtly aggressive as Sensenbrenner's HR4437, this remains an enforcement-first bill and offers little or nothing to immigrant workers and their families.

ImmigrantsThis is not what millions of immigrant workers marched for last spring. This is not why hundreds of grass roots organizations were formed across the country in order to fight for unconditional legalization for all.

Posada’s release exposes Washington’s hypocrisy
The decision by the US authorities to release the terrorist Luis Posada Carriles exposes before the eyes of the world the hypocritical attitude of the United States government to terrorism.

Posada Carriles Posada is the author of the 1976 attack that brought down a Cubana de Aviación civilian airliner off the coast of Barbados, which cost the lives of 73 innocent people.

By releasing this criminal, the US authorities have admitted that they support terrorism when this is in the interests of US imperialism. Bush's so-called war on terrorism therefore stands exposed as a shameful deception. In an editorial of April 20, the Los Angeles Times condemned the decision:

"With a misguided decision upholding bail for Cuban-born terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans has done more than free a frail old man facing unremarkable immigration charges. It has exposed Washington to legitimate charges of hypocrisy in the war on terror.

I have to be careful what I say in these matters but he has been ... well there are certain judgments that are made on certain advice that I can't go into, but the reasons for banning him are sound," said Howard. Perhaps the black rapper is also a HIV carrier and votes Democrat! Howard recently levelled more criticism on US Democrats in relation to the war in Iraq. The absurdity and hypocrisy of Howard's behaviour is reaching levels unimagined by even his most fervent critics.

Holocaust Denial
When is holocaust denial not a crime? When the victims are not Jews it would seem! As the world begins to target the lies and excesses of conservative governments, coalition leaders are becoming more nervous and agitated as each day passes. But the monstrous oversight of all opposition parties - and it's not accidental - is continued holocaust denial. There is no dismissing the figures from a world-renowned authoritative journal (Lancet). The 660,000 civilian dead in Iraq CONSTITUTE A HOLOCAUST in any 'language'. The screaming figures can no longer be dismissed, avoided, or denied nor can the RESPONSIBILITY for the CRIMES.

The Fall of Schumacher Furs
What follows are my opinions and only my opinions. This web page may contain inaccurate and uninformed opinions, however, and as such you are encouraged to not accept anything you read here as being even remotely accurate, and you're also encouraged to do your own research into the history of
the destruction of the Schumacher Furs® company.

Eventually this web site will contain links to a detailed history of this battle against what's arguably a totally repugnant industry which has been obsolete for decades and which is attempting to fight against
its own inevitable extinction.

Personally I don't eat meat, I have a cow skin hat that I wear in the mountains and in the Mojave Desert, and I would never wear some dead animal's fur. Also I would never picket or protest a fur store unless its owners and operators engaged in highly abusive or criminal acts against innocent people
which needed to be exposed and opposed. At the same time I recognize that these picketers and protesters have every right to do what they do and that they hold the moral high ground in this national debate.

Chávez recommends the study of Trotsky
In his weekly TV programme Aló Presidente, broadcast on Sunday April 22 from Urachiche in Yaracuy, president Chávez advised all Venezuelans to read and study the writings of Leon Trotsky, and commented favourably on The Transitional Programme , which was written by Trotsky for the founding congress of the Fourth International in 1938.

Responding to a call from a listener of the programme, Ramon Gonzalez, Chávez explained that he had recently read the pamphlet which had been given to him by the Minister of Popular Power for Labour and Social Security, José Ramón Rivero. The minister is a former trade unionist from Bolivar who had told Chávez he was a Trotskyist when hearing of his intention to nominate him as minister of Labour.

"I cannot be classified as a Trotskyist, no, but I tend towards that, because I respect very much the thoughts of Leon Trotsky, and the more I respect him the more I understand him better. The permanent revolution for instance, is an extremely important thesis. We must read, we must study, all of us, nobody here can think he already knows", he stressed.
