The state in Kashmir has shown its true colors by increasing repression on comrades arrested yesterday when they were protesting for the basic demands of the peoples of Kashmir.
The comrades arrested by the police were subjected to severe torture and were accused of serious crimes that they had never committed. In reality, they are being punished for raising the voice of the impoverished people of Kashmir who were devastated by a massive earthquake on 8th October 2005. The police has falsely accused the arrested comrades of attempting to kill and injure others. Also allegations are made on disturbing the state procedures. All these allegations are false as the comrades were carrying out a peaceful rally to remind the state of its promises it had made after the earthquake.

US President George W. Bush is scheduled to arrive in Brazil tonight and to meet with Brazil's President Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva on the morning of March 9, when the two will visit the Transpetro terminal in Guarulhos, a town outside of the industrial and financial center of São Paulo.
This bit of presidential tourism is no accident. Transpetro is the largest shipping company in Latin America and Brazil's main logistical organizer in the transport of fuel, a central theme of the agenda set by Bush and Lula for this visit. A subsidiary of Petrobrás, Brazil's national oil company, Transpetro handles the transport and storage of petroleum and its derivatives as well as of alcohol and natural gas, operating a fleet of 51 ships, a network consisting of 10,000 kilometers of pipeline and 44 land and water terminals.

What indeed is the responsibility of intellectuals to the people? We already know what the intellectuals have themselves proclaimed it is - without adding the word "peoples" to their description. Let's quickly review. My favorite description comes from Vaclav Havel:

![]() A recent poll conducted by PIPA and GlobeScan for the BBC World Service, reveals that a majority (51%) of people across the 26 countries says the U.S. is having a "mostly negative influence" in the world. The poll, now in its third consecutive year, showed the lowest positive evaluations of the United States recorded so far. Kull pointed out, however, that recent poll findings on the United States' image abroad are not all negative. "The good news is that there is an abundance of evidence that the unhappiness with the US is not a rejection of US values," he said. "People around the world say that the problems they have with the U.S. concern its policies, not its values."

The massive equity bubbles which arose from artificially low interest rates and the deliberate destruction of the dollar by reckless increases in the money supply have shifted trillions of dollars from working class Americans to the predatory aristocrats at the top of the economic food chain. The gulf between rich and poor has grown so wide that it now poses a direct threat to our increasingly fragile democracy.

In Tacoma, Washington, we are witnessing Bush's "surge" right here, right NOW. The armored Strykers are being brought from Ft. Lewis to the Port of Tacoma. We expect the Strykers of the 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry will be loaded onto military ships bound for the Persian Gulf starting Friday, which normally takes three days. That gives us less than a week to act. By slowing or stopping the Strykers from being loaded, we are drawing attention to the criminal escalation of the Iraq War against the will of the American people. Join the Port Resistance!! KEEP THE 4TH HOME!!! Tues. March 6th to Sun. March 12th or until Strykers have left the port.

A common objection to the argument that 9/11 was an inside job is that the conspiracy would be too big to keep quiet. In other words, the argument is that it is impossible that so many people could have kept quiet for so long. SOMEONE would have talked or made a mistake, so that the conspiracy would have been discovered.
Justice is the weapon of the weaker, not the right of the stronger.. Every person is an end, not a means. Therefore justice can never approve the violation of human rights.. Hurrah, we auction off the state! is the joyous cry of the neoliberals. Everything public should be pulverized.
"It appears that people around the world tend to look negatively on countries whose profile is marked by the use or pursuit of military power," said Steven Kull, director of PIPA. This includes Israel and the US, who have recently used military force, and North Korea and Iran, who are perceived as trying to develop nuclear weapons."
