Notorious Holocaust denier speaking in Eugene 02.11.2007 09:09
UofO Pacifica Forum invites Nat'l Vanguard (nazi) editor, Nov.2
The Pacifica Forum is an antiwar or peace discussion forum in Eugene Oregon, based at the university. Tomorrow, November 2, they have invited Mark Weber to speak on the topic"The Israel Lobby: How Powerful is it?". Weber is an extreme right winger who used to be an editor at the racist National Vanguard. Hopefully the Pacifica Forum people were confused about his background and perspective.
Neo-national socialists have never had a pro-peace perspective, and are only worthy of listening to and reading in order to be aware of what the opponents of peace are up to.

Portland Car Dealer selling Cars that won't pass DEQ
I purchased a 1993 BMW 525ia from Affordable Auto Wholesale in Portland on 9/12/07

When I first bought the car, I took it to the clean air station in Gresham, it failed with a hc of 550. I took the car to the dealer to have them fix it. They replaced the catalytic converter (done at Darrel's muffler shop -they do good work) and(Affordable) took it back though DEQ and it passed with a hc of 76, with a CO of 0.000 on 10/3/07 (odd don't you think)

I took my car to a BMW mechanic, who discovered a disconnected vacuum line. He reconnected it, and the car started to idle wildly (constantly revving and finally dying, the exact symptoms the car was displaying when purchased, and was told by the dealer it would be fixed) He checked the codes and stated that the Mass AirFlow Sensor was bad. Yesterday I took my car though the Clean Air Station in Gresham again and it failed at 549, with a CO of 6.265
I wasn't even given a chance to idle more than a few seconds before the car failed.

I called the dealership asking them to fix the car, to meet DEQ standards, they claim that once passed, they are not responsible for further repairs.

I have read the page from the Attorney General, it states that a dealership must fix the car if it fails DEQ tests within 60 days of purchase. Specifically that page also mentions by name Affordable Auto Wholesale.

A Cry To You & The American People – by a local radical
Well here we are boys and girls. Still stuck in the same rut. Generation after generation. We have won some battles and lost some battles throughout history. But we are still losing this war, miserably I must say. The Empire is still growing. The Constitution is only alive in our hearts, not in practice. We have not achieved real change. I fear the climax of our situation, Americas, and the rest of the world... is rushing up beneath us, and its going to hit us like an explosion of a volcano and shock like an earthquake.

So I am here to discuss two main points. Two points that I think are most important to us in this era of, one may call, depending on your view points - a new world order. So please, think about these following words and leave your thoughts and comments. I only ask that we keep this civil amongst us, no bickering and arguing and trash talking opinions and ideas. Let's look at this from an educated/learning point of view. I am here to talk about problems and solutions among "the movement" and this country.

Happy Halloween!
Tonight I carved a jack-o-latern from one of the two good pumpkins from the garden. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday.
A couple simple reasons, and I'm sure others can add more.
Number one, fear takes a little break on halloween. Those neighbors who you are suspicious of? You go right up to thier door- At night, no less. (well, at least you stand on the sidewalk and send the kids)..
Number two, Everyone fits in on this day, no matter how funny or different you look. It's a true celebration of diversity.
Ok, and it's spiritual, and in tune with the changing seasons and our natural surroundings, etc.
Anyways, it's always been my favorite Holiday..

No Border Camp is Coming
On the 18th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall organizers and activists will gather in Calexico/Mexicali to draw attention to the human rights atrocities that occur in regards to the hyper-militarized U.S./Mexico border, the people and corporations who benefit from these terrors and the rising tide of white supremacists who use immigration as a way to promote their twisted politics.

In the Northwest, there will be solidarity actions occuring simultanously to show support and to draw attention to the border issues that affect people in our own communities. The border is everywhere. We must confront it in our community while supporting others struggling against it in communities across the Americas.

Photos of O27 Seattle Regional Peace March and Rally
I'd estimate the crowd at somewhere around 10,000. One of the pictures included in this report clearly shows a long shot of a wide street fairly tightly packed for many, many blocks.

At the beginning the youth took the stage for a few brief speeches, some hip hop, and some really heavy metal music. The field below was far from filled, but steadily increased as the Rally unfolded. By the time the March began thousands thronged the area preparing to march the 2 miles to downtown Seattle.

Corvallis Officer Cox on Paid Suspension for over 1 month
CPD Officer Cox was placed on paid suspension over a month ago but no information has been forthcoming!

There have been reports of Officer Cox pulling people over without cause, following people for long distances until the finally make a mistake so he can pull them over, arresting people without cause, and a few reports of possible inappropriate behavior with women during stops. In light of Portland's Finest (Matthew Kohnke) taking a plea over his molestation of several women people are starting to wonder what Cox has been suspended for. Will the CPD be allowed to sweep his misconduct under the rug? The blue wall seems to be up on this one does anyone know what Cox was suspended for?

Tell UCPD and Contra Costa County DA to drop charges against anti-vivisection protestors
Sunday, October 21, 18 individuals were cited for "disturbing the peace" at the first home demonstration of the afternoon against UC Berkeley vivisection. 4 were taken to jail because they were "previous offenders" (though none had EVER been cited or arrested at a demonstration before this.) The 4 taken to jail were released with a citation after two hours in custody. The other 14 were cited and released at the scene in El Cerrito, CA.

The demonstrators were trailed by 2 UCPD officers in a Prius who were clearly running the show and barking orders at the local El Cerrito cops. Detective Collum, in particular, made it clear that he's been watching this campaign and his goal is to kill it. He's been known to question people, telling them that to participate in residential demonstrations amounts to "stalking" and that "this activity has to cease."

All are set for court December 5 at 1pm in Superior Court at 100 37th ST in Richmond, CA. Please come out and show your support. We need everyone to call the Contra Costa County DA's office and ask them to drop these ridiculous charges. Their number is (925) 957-2200.

We need everyone to also contact UCPD and ask that they stop suppressing the civil rights of demonstrators. Their number is (510) 642-0472. Another number is (510) 642-3184.

FCC Chair Kevin Martin Proposes Rules to Allow for Greater Media Consolidation

The FCC is proposing to do away with media ownership rules that bar companies from owning both a newspaper and a television or radio station in the same city. In 2003, Kevin Martin voted with the then-FCC chairman to lift the same media ownership rules but the effort was overturned by the landmark Prometheus v. FCC decision. The FCC was ordered to justify the changes and their impact on diversity and localism.

The Chair of the Federal Communications Commission is proposing to do away with media ownership rules that bar companies from owning both a newspaper and a television or radio station in the same city. If approved the new rules could take effect as early as this December.

Arlington Northwest in Olympia
arlington northwest The local Veterans for Peace chapter brought a grim reminder of war to Olympia. Rows and Rows of markers for the almost 4,000 soldiers killed in Iraq were sobering.

On this gray rainy day, with the colors of the fall subdued, I walked this memorial for those soldiers who have died in Iraq. Whatever your views on the war, this cemetery provided a sad reminder that every death leaves mothers and fathers grieving the loss of their children. The markers filled a large area in Heritage Park. It is impossible for me to imagine how much space would be needed to create markers for all who have been killed in Iraq. Maybe the Mall in DC would have enough space. Maybe if our elected officials could see this reality, they would be moved to end war.

Words cannot capture this--maybe photos will help.

Measure 49 and the "false claims brochures"
Opponents of Measure 49, some of whom are asking for up to 140 homes, issued a glossy 8-page brochure to Oregon voters this week making hysterical and often patently false claims about the effects of Measure 49. I copied this from an email I recieved from Jeremiah Baumann, Environment Oregon Advocate at  http://www.environmentoregon.org/

Jake Ferguson Pleads Guilty
Today, 10/26/07, in the district of Oregon Federal Court in Eugene, Jacob "Jake" Jeremiah Ferguson entered a change of plea to one count of attempted arson and one count of arson for a fire at the Detroit Ranger Station the 28th of October, 1996.

The government agreed not to bring additional charges against Ferguson for the laundry list of crimes in which he was involved over the past decade, provided that he continue to cooperate completely in any ongoing or future investigations by federal, state or local authorities.

Aiken then asked Ferguson for his plea on the two counts, to which Ferguson said, "Guilty." Rather than sentencing him on the spot, Aiken set a sentencing hearing for January 10th of 2008 to allow time for pre-sentencing reports to be drafted.

Tre Arrow's Statement on Denial of his Canadian Extradition Appeal
Hello to everyone. Yes, it's been a while since I've written! Thank you for your continued patience and support. Two seasons have come since my appeal hearing and on Friday (Oct 19) the court of appeal issued their decision regarding my extradition to the U.S. All three judges denied all the arguments my lawyer Jim made on my behalf. If you would like to read the reasons for the decision, go to courts.gov.bc.

I am planning on appealing this decision to the Supreme Court of Canada. As things develop I will keep you informed. At this point, I have no extradition lawyer. Jim Blazina has withdrawn his services, therefore I am seeking a competent and experienced lawyer who is well versed in extradition and international law. If you know anyone who may be able to help with my case please contact: tre@riseup.net , or phone (250)721-5997.
