The sun has just come up and now there is this slighty dirty haze hanging over my city. I assume this must be from the smoke of those African fires. I have been waiting for it and now it seems to have arrived, for no continent in the world can burn down like that one is burning down, without blanketing the entire planet in haze. Now that those fires are moving south into the African rainforest, I would suppose that the haze will only increase in the days to come.

This is it, the Apocalypse.

In image 1 each red dot represents a fire.
What is left of the North East Sahel is burning and the fires
are pushing south into the African rainforest.

In image 2 we zoom in and can see the pillars of smoke rising from those fires

In Image 3 you can see the fires beginning to move south
into the North Western AFrican rainforests.
There is smoky haze and brownish sludge pouring into the Atlantic
from the poisoned rivers polluted from the debris of fires and salt.
There is scorched earth everywhere.

Some how this all seems so fitting as the conclusion to our Festival of Lights and if something like that doesn't start turning some of the lights on over this planet it is hard to imagine what ever would. It also makes you wonder why that Mohammed didn't just go get God and then forget about the army, but then I guess the answer to that question would be that Mohammed did go to God but God said no.

You Know, I Think This Is Silly 19.Dec.2015 03:36

Salting of the cities of defeated enemies is a very ancient, mostly mythical ritual that is said to have originated at least 2,600 years ago. The theory is that people won't be able to grow anything when there is salt in the soil; and this would be true if very massive amounts of salt were applied. The fact that colossal amounts of salt are poured on roadways in the northern parts of America and yet plants still grow on the roadsides shows that it's not very practical. See:

Rock salt can be had for under $50 a ton, so figure $1,500 per acre for materials, pretty cheap for the satisfaction of expunging all trace of your enemies from the face of the earth. Be aware, however, that rain readily leaches salt out of soil, meaning that in a well-watered climate salted ground might be recoverable in a few years.

$1,500 per acre? Well, we can assume that West Africa has a rather vast number of acres! This would be quite an easy way to go broke fast!

The fires are agricultural fires:

Agricultural fires (shown here with red dots) are common in west Africa's dry season. In this image, showing Ghana, Ivory Coast to the west and Togo to the east, fires dominate the drier parts of the country to the west of Lake Volta and north of the city of Kumasi. Although such fires are not necessarily hazardous, they can have a large impact on air quality and human health, climate, and natural resources
