Internships Opportunities with Portland Fruit Tree Project.

Internships Opportunities with Portland Fruit Tree Project.
Portland Fruit Tree Project is a small nonprofit that empowers neighbors to share in the harvest and care of urban fruit trees. Our mission is to increase equitable access to healthy food in our community. We work with fruit tree owners interested in donating their harvest to those in need by organizing trained work groups to harvest on site and distribute fruit to local food banks.

Portland Fruit Tree Project is currently recruiting for three internship positions -

Fall Program Internship
(September 15th - December 15th, 20-30 hrs per week)
The Fall Intern will assist in the coordination of Portland Fruit Tree Project's harvesting events, co-lead harvesting events, and conduct site visits with registered tree owners. The Fal Intern will also have the opportunity to assist in coordinating our Tree Scouting & Tree Registration program, and tree care activities through our Community Orchards/Fruit Tree Stewardship programs.

Community Harvest & Tree Care Internship
(October 1st - March 30th, 12-20 hrs per week)
During the first half of the internship, the Community Harvest & Tree Care Intern will assist in the coordination of Portland Fruit Tree Project's harvesting events, co-lead harvesting events, and conduct site visits with registered tree owners. During the second half of the internship, the intern will assist in the coordination of our Tree Care Workshop Series, Tree Care Teams program, and work with volunteers and staff to coordinate and maintain our Community Orchard sites.

Development Intern
(October 1st - March 30th, 12-20 hrs per week)
The Development Intern will assist with fundraising and resource development to support Portland Fruit Tree Project's growing programs. The intern may also assist with outreach to spread the word about PFTP, and bring diverse participants into our programs. This will be an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in non-profit fundraising, while making a difference for PFTP and the communities we serve.
