Portland Fruit Tree Project is currently accepting applications for three unpaid internships that will run from mid-June to mid-December. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a vibrant and growing organization! You will gain great event coordination and volunteer coordination experience; connections in the local food & urban agriculture movement, and the fulfillment of knowing that your efforts will make a direct and immediate impact on thousands of families throughout the harvesting season. Community Harvest Internships (2 unique positions) The two Community Harvest Interns will assist in the coordination of Portland Fruit Tree Project's harvesting events, co-lead harvesting events, and conduct site visits with registered tree owners. Of the two interns, each will take a lead role coordinating one of the following: our Tree Scouting & Tree Registration program, or tree care activities through our Community Orchards/Fruit Tree Stewardship programs. http://portlandfruit.org/community-harvest-internships Food Education Internship The Food Education Intern will take the lead in coordinating Portland Fruit Tree Project's Food Preservation workshop series. In addition, this intern will also take the lead in developing and enhancing food education resources to meet our goals around providing education to the community around how to use and eat fresh fruit. http://portlandfruit.org/food-education-internship-summer-fall-2014 The application deadline for all three positions is Monday May 12th, 2014.
