Breaking News: Last week the Rose City Antifa and a posse of white
organizers of the Cascadia Rising Bioregional Confluence banned a Native
American who had been invited to speak on a panel at the Confluence. Now
the Rose City Antifa has quit the Confluence amid a growing controversy
over the Rose City Antifa's strong-arm tactics.

The Cascadia Rising Bioregional Confluence will be held, as scheduled, on
Sunday April 20th, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, at the Smith Memorial Student
Union at Portland State University in downtown Portland.

The Native American who the Rose City Antifa banned from the Cascadia
Rising Bioregional Confluence is named Vincent (Vince) Rinehart; he is a
member of the Tlingit Tribe, of the Raven moiety, born and raised in SE
Alaska. See links:

The Rose City Antifa claimed that the Native American panelist, Vince
Rinehart had communicated with an alleged white nationalist, and the Rose
City Antifa persuaded, or pressured, the organizers of the Cascadia Rising
Bioregional Confluence to ban Vince Rinehart from speaking at the
Confluence, although Rinehart had already been invited to speak there.

Now, in a recent development, the Rose City Antifa has abruptly canceled
its own presentation at the Confluence, using the excuse of an "illness"
for the Rose City Antifa's abstaining presenter.

The Rose City Antifa, which promises that it will become Portland's
community Police force when Anarchy replaces democracy and the Rule of
Law, had planned to present its community policing agenda at the Cascadia
Rising Bioregional Confluence. In their policy statements and on their
website, the Rose City Antifa say that they oppose the Police, but what
the RCA really wants to do is to replace the Police with themselves — the
Rose City Antifa — as the community Police force.

The Rose City Antifa, along with its parent organization Anti-Rascist
Action, have stated that they oppose 'nativism', which apparently
includes Native American tribalism. In the arcane jargon or rhetoric
of 'antifascist' theory, at the Cascadia Rising Bioregional Confluence
the Rose City Antifa 'policed' the 'nativist' Native American activist
named Vince Rinehart out of a 'prefigurative space' that the Rose City
Antifa wanted to gain control of. See the relevant quotes below.

"We oppose all forms of oppression and exploitation. We intend to do the
hard work necessary to build a broad, strong movement of oppressed people
centered on the working class against racism, sexism, NATIVISM (emphasis
added), anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, and
discrimination against the disabled, the oldest, the youngest, and the
most oppressed people."

"Stanislav Vysotsky is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Willamette
University in Salem, OR. Dr. Vysotsky's research has focused on the
conflict between supremacist groups in contemporary American society and
their militant anti-fascist opposition through ethnographic and interview
research with anti-fascist activists in order to understand the
relationship between threat, space, subculture, and social movement
activism. His current research is focused on understanding how social
movement activists engage in practices of POLICING (emphasis added) in
prefigurative spaces and activities. In pursuit of this project he has
conducted content analysis of the portrayal of the Occupy movement in the
press and is currently interviewing activists who have engaged in
POLICING (emphasis added) practices as part of their social justice
work."

"Prefigurative politics are the modes of organization and social
relationships that strive to reflect the future society being sought by
the group."
