Locks Glued at Paxton Gate

Locks Glued at Paxton Gate
"On the early morning of April 14th, Paxton Gate, Portland had its locks filled with liquid steel. Paxton Gate profits from the sale of mutilated animal corpses, including fur farmed silver fox tails. Also many of the dead animals sold by this company were killed by trapping. A brutal practice in which trapped animals will sometimes suffer for days until they are finally killed by hunters or succumb to their wounds. As long as Paxton Gate continues to perpetuate the exploitation of non-humyn animals for profit, they can expect more disruption to their business.

Keep the pressure on 20.Apr.2014 00:02

Paxton Gate has been the target of protests and other actions in the past. It is good to see folks keeping the pressure on.

It should be noted that although Paxton Gate has claimed to have removed fox tails from their Portland retail outlet, they are still sold on Paxton Gates' website.

Thanks for the documentation 21.Apr.2014 10:39

more plz

One of the problems with the local animals rights people is, unlike Antifa/ARA, their documentation is crap. If you're going to vandalize as civil disobedience, you MUST document the offense AND all attempts to resolve it without resorting to vandalism. Otherwise you come off as trigger happy loons.

The fact is unless Animal rights warriors do as much research into the source of the animals and furs(how much is farmed vs donated/hunted/antiques), it's hypocritical to expect Paxton to be held to the same standard.

Is there a source for Paxton "claimed to have removed fox tails from their Portland retail outlet"?

I've seen the tails. Although I don't know that they're coming from there, they are not antiques. Hunted or farmed, donated or purchased, wearing an animal tail--who died for fashion--is way uncool. We need to respect living creatures. We can't afford to lose this value as we move forward on others.

Can you give any examples?

After several protests back in 2010 Paxton Gate removed fox tails from their Portland retail outlet, however the fox tails are still sold over their website making it a half hearted gesture on behalf of Paxton Gate.

If you want to find information about where Paxton Gate sources the animal corpses they sell all you have to do is take a look at their website. Their website plainly states that many of the dead animals they sell were killed by trappers and/or killed by hunters. Much of this is backed by what Paxton Gate employees have told protesters (ie. that the fox tails are sourced from fur farms). People are acting off information that Paxton Gate has publicly provided. I don't know what your deal is.
