This Is Insidious! 24.May.2013 05:45

blues

Post liberation society has exposed the info-serfs to gross info-inequity with the info-lords. Nearly every picture, mp3 audio, video recording, etc. contains hidden "steganographic" data about where it was taken (via GPS), the device's media access codes (telling where it was bought, often with credit card info, etc.). Just by posting a photo with hidden personal info on the Internet can let "certain people" know everything about you! The info-lords know everything, while their activities are totally hidden from the info-serfs by security clearance secrecy.

However, you can clean your photos, etc., with simple software. Try running the photos, etc., through the ExifTool program. It can run on any computer.

"ExifTool is a platform-independent command-line application for reading, writing and editing meta information that is contained in the image, audio and video files.

ExifTool supports many different types of metadata including EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP, JFIF, GeoTIFF, ICC Profile, Photoshop IRB, FlashPix, AFCP and ID3.

It is also compatible with the maker notes of many digital cameras by Canon, Casio, FujiFilm, HP, JVC / Victor, Kodak, Leaf, Minolta / Konica-Minolta, Nikon, Olympus / Epson, Panasonic / Leica, Pentax / Asahi, Ricoh, Sanyo, Sigma / Foveon and Sony."

Get it at safe Softpedia:
 http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Digital-Photo-Tools/ExifTool.shtml

You will need the Perl 5.004 (or later) platform (It's similar to the Java platform, and easy to get for your OS from Softpedia.)

Info-equity for the masses!

Why watch? 24.May.2013 11:26

....

Using the subject as a cue, I'm suspecting the video in about embedded geolocation information in images. Amirite?

You do need to get out more:  http://malden.patch.com/blog_posts/internet-safety-exif-data
