TELL THE CITY TO STOP FINING RIGHT TO DREAM TOO

Right to Dream Too (R2DToo) pitched tents in a vacant lot on World Homeless Action Day (October 10, 2011). R2DToo is a place where people can sleep safely and undisturbed, inside of a tent. R2DToo is on private land and has a lease with the owner of the land. The Bureau of Development Services claims that R2DToo has established a recreational campground without a permit.
Camping for survival is not the same as camping for leisure!

Commissioner Dan Salzman is in charge of the Bureau of Development Services, the agency that has, as of April 1, 2013, fined Right to Dream Too over $20,000. By March 1, the fines, penalties and interest will be over $1,500 a month, which is more than double the cost of keeping R2DToo open for another month.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Contact your City officials. We want all of them to know that you support R2DToo. The City officials have power to instruct the Bureau of Development Services to stop fining R2DToo.
