Rally to Stop Coal Exports in Oregon on March 13!

On April 1, the state of Oregon will decide whether or not to approve the Morrow Pacific coal export project. If approved, it would be the first of five proposed coal export facilities to get a green light in the Northwest and open the flood gates for others, creating a climate nightmare. With the health, safety, and economy of dozens of communities from Montana to Oregon at stake, we are sounding the alarm to stop coal exports in the Northwest.
Stand with concerned Oregonians at the Capital, in Salem, on March 13, and call on Governor Kitzhaber to stop coal exports in the Pacific Northwest. RSVP now.

"Sound the Alarm" Against Coal in the Gorge!‏ 11.Mar.2013 18:38

reposting EMAIL

Just three weeks from today on April 1st is the deadline for the Oregon Department of State Lands (DSL) to approve or deny a new Oregon coal terminal. In two days, we are going to come together to send the message to the Governor: do not allow the Columbia Gorge to become the nation's largest coal chute.

Join us on Wednesday, March 13 outside the Capitol building in Salem to Sound the Alarm to Stop Coal Exports.

(We will also lead a similar event the same day in Hood River) (4th and State St, in Hood River, OR)

In just a few short weeks, Governor Kitzhaber and the DSL could open the door to coal export on the Columbia River in Oregon. It's time to get serious and Sound the Alarm to Stop Coal Exports!

Will you join Friends of the Columbia Gorge and our allies in Salem to MAKE SOME NOISE and tell the Governor to say NO to coal exports?

Do you live in the Gorge? Join the march to Sound the Alarm in Hood River!

While faith leaders across the state will be ringing their bells to draw attention to the moral impact of coal exports, we will be the voice of the Columbia Gorge to talk about the health, economic, environmental and global impacts of exporting coal to Asia.
