The Bull Run drinkng water system faces many challenges in the years to come. EPA wants Portland to cover their open reservoirs removing the public health benefits of sunshine and open air. EPA also wants to add water treatment in the Bull Run using artificial UV radiation for a public health problem that does not exist. Because of the hundreds of wasted dollars we are a risk of regionalization, blending Willamette River water as described by corporate engineers in the Regional Transmission and Storage Strategy 2001 document. Privatization of the system is certain to follow. We are asking for a Waiver from the EPA LT2 regulation, so we can retain the pristine safe and healthy drinking water we have today.
