Dennis Kucinich [QUOTED excerpt]:
------------------------------------------------------------------
What this law is trying to do, [ ... ] it exempts about 2,250 different kinds of guns... But clearly, it's going after 'assault weapons' -- and I understand that. But there's one point I want to make before we start the debate, and that is this: Here's what I don't understand -- The people are weaponizing themselves, because historically, you know, you go back to the beginning of the Constitution, it was to protect themselves against the tyrannical government. So now, with government getting ever more powerful, people weaponize themselves... But what's happening at that same time? More of our tax dollars [are] going to helping make the government even more powerful. Someone has to puzzle that out for me.

Fox News newest contributor, ex-Ohio congressman Dennis Kucinich discusses gun control.
what Dennis Kucinich does financially speaking - I know enough about him as a politician and person, to comprehend that he isn't in that gig "For The Money" (as you are clearly implying).
he has enough integrity and honor demonstrated by his long career and clear statements of purpose-policy.
( I'm sure that it's well within the means of even a tool like you, to contact DK himself and/or consult his WWW site, asking the simple question "Why?" in order to obtain a straightforward explanation of the reasoning/purpose behind his new Fox News gig......
I mean .......
it surely couldn't all be a dark deep 'conspiracy' now, could it .... ? .......... )
Was NOT concerning what "Corp media" may? have been bandying about over the past 72 hours or so.
It was in reference specifically to the fact that DK being under contract w/ Fox was officially announced One Month Ago (in linear time).
i.e. You Are LATE To The Party, if all you can blather about this topic is: "Corp media speculating all over the place" ( only in evidence for past few days, as knowledge of Palin-On-The-Skids has been around for 6 MONTHS + link to www.huffingtonpost.com )
You need to keep up with the news, or refrain from using a keyboard and go back to your self-__________________________ .
BTW knock it off with the mock-Hogan's-Heroes lingo, people will start to think you're a ..... moron (oh wait .... they already did)
None of you have addressed the Constitution (pfffft).
How relevant is the 2nd Amendment today? Was it also included to also assure that slaves and Indians would not revolt, and, that their allies would? Did it only address the rights of white, male settlers?
"Was it also included to also assure that slaves and Indians would not revolt, and, that their allies would?"
no, it was clearly held to refer to the ability of the country, with help from raised local militia, to also withstand outside invasion. This is stated very clearly in the Federalist papers, among other sources.
This whole 'preventing slave revolt' angle is a disgusting liberal attempt to paint gun owners as racists. When you can't win an argument based on facts, just paint the opposition as racists.
"Did it only address the rights of white, male settlers?"
All of the constitution, and the bill of rights, suffers from this flaw. It does not invalidate them in any way. If you claim this is a problem, it must also be a problem with the first, fourth and fifth amendments, yes?
Just as he sold out his donors on health care (including me), Kucinich sold out all who seek equal justice for all.
Like Ron Paul, who said that Obama the war criminal should not be impeached because "they all do it, so he shouldn't be singled out", Kucinich expressed a deeply cynical view: he didn't support impeachment even if Obama was guilty of war crimes, crimes against humanity and/or crimes against the Constitution.
So that's your "progressive Democrat".
And for those who continue to worship false idols: Read the Geneva Conventions and the Nuremberg Principles.
"The use of ...drones in Pakistan violates both the UN Charter and the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit willful killing. Targeted or political assassinations -- sometimes called extrajudicial executions -- are carried out by order of, or with the acquiescence of, a government, outside any judicial framework. As a 1998 report from the UN Special Rapporteur noted, "extrajudicial executions can never be justified under any circumstances, not even in time of war." Willful killing is a grave
breach of the Geneva Conventions, punishable as a war crime under the U.S. War Crimes Act." (Marjorie Cohn, http://www.alternet.org/story/144741/)
