QuorumEx, John McAfee's herbal medicine company, pioneers QS antibiotic research link to www.examiner.com
Lets move on to the meat of the issue with McAfee.
John McAfee is best known as the creator of McAfee antivirus, and is now gaining infamy for his escape from Belize and claims that he was being targeted by corrupt authorities in Belize. McAfee's neighbor was murdered and authorities in Belize sought to question him about the case, while McAfee has claimed that he was being set up in retaliation for his refusal to cooperate with racketeering and corruption by government officials. What is less publicized about McAfee is the pioneering research in herbal medicine that McAfee has spearheaded in Belize. His firm QuorumEx has researched quorum sensing inhibitor agents from herbs found in the Central American jungles and savannas of Belize.
According to the QuorumEx website "Dr. John McAfee - President & CEO - the founder of McAfee Anti-virus, Tribal Voice, and several other ventures, founded QuorumEx in order to re-invent the way modern medicine combats and disarms pathogenic bacteria. Through his efforts, QuorumEx has identified numerous new plant compounds that inhibit qs signaling and provide promise for new anti-quorum sensing medicines." These QS (quorum sensing) signal inhibiting compounds are effective agents in disabling bacterial pathogens that cause illness. QuromEx reports that "In the summer of 2010, QuorumEx moved its laboratory facilities from San Ignacio, Belize to our alpha production facility near Orange Walk. We expect to begin production of our Topic-QX product in the near future and to have more product announcements soon. A large percentage of our work is done in the field. We have extensive greenhouse facilities on the island of Ambergris, and field stations along the banks of the New River in central Belize."
Since this research involves natural antibiotic compounds not controlled by major pharmaceutical companies, McAfee has claimed that synthetic pharmaceutical drug producers Bayer and Merck have used their money to influence Belizean authorities to turn against McAfee's business and accuse him of running an illegal antibitoics lab. In speaking publicly upon his arrival in Miami, Florida this week, McAfee stated "Merck and Bayer have doled out so much money that it's a crime to do research in these countries now." McAfee would not be the first alternative medicine researcher or businessperson to cite conspiracies carried out among drug companies and government officials to block natural cures. Here in the USA there have been numerous cases of government suppression of natural cures, ranging from Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski's antineoplaston therapy, Laetrile (apricot seed extract), oxygen therapies, MMS (sodium chlorite + citric acid formula), and colloidal silver, to Royal Rife's resonant frequency devices and cannabis and hemp oils. Hopefully, the valuable research and compounds produced by QuorumEx will not get lost amidst the controversy over McAfee's flight from Central America back to the United States.
