Review of Portland Police Bureau Crowd Control on Tuesday 8.27.12

Public Input Wanted - tell what you know from your own experiences
"Review of Portland Police Bureau Crowd Control"
Date: Tuesday, August 28, 2012
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: Miracles Club
4200 NE Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard
Portland, OR 97212
The Citizen Review Committee (9 member civilian oversight body attached to the
Auditor's Independent Police Review Division) has a Work Group looking at Crowd
Control policies, and they want to hear from people who've received/witnessed
the PPB in action. It is Tuesday 8/28/12 from 6-8 at Miracles Club.

Sorry for the short notice, this just arrived yesterday, but please send this out widely.
If you or someone you know would be willing to talk about your experiences to this all-volunteer group, which is attached to but able to make policy recommendations independent of the "Independent" Police Review Division, can you let us know? And also, let us know if it's ok to share your name and/or contact information with the Work Group chair, Rodney Paris.

Feel free to circulate this email widely - the Crowd Control Work Group has only met three or four times but they've heard from us about batons, horses, bicycles, "kettling," pepper spray, lack of identification, and other various issues. They want to hear more first hand experiences from a wider variety of folks.
