Subject: ACTION: Support the prosecution of Officer Resiter Friday @ 10 AM

Friends

The next proceedings in the Dane Reister case will be at 10 AM this Friday,
July 20 in Judge Mauer's courtroom #406 at the County Courthouse at SW 4th and
Main. Reister is charged with felony assault for shooting William Monroe in the
back with live shotgun rounds fired from his "less-lethal" shotgun back in June
2011. Mr. Monroe was severely injured.

Officer Reister has had plenty of fellow officers showing up to support him in
past appearances. It is time the community shows up to support the prosecution
of this officer. Remember, you will be subjected to security screening on the
way in-- nothing that can be construed as a weapon (including Swiss army knife
key chains, etc), and we'll likely have to stay silent in the courtroom.

These are more motions being heard, not the actual trial. Just last week the
judge said she would allow Reister's previous mis-loading of a firearm (a
"crowd control" weapon loaded with a real round instead of a practice round) as
evidence.

This case marks the first time the DA in Multnomah County has tried to
prosecute an officer for on-duty use of force.

Hope to see you Friday.
